Position: Receptionist, DR Academy
Job class: Full-Time
Department: Player Development/International Ops.
Location: Boca Chica, Dominican Republic
Reports to: Manager, DR Academy Operations
Anticipated Start date: February 2025
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Greet and direct visitors entering the Phillies Administrative Lobby
- Provide general office/clerical support by:
- Answering telephone calls
- Direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person or via telephone/emails not limited to academy activities/schedule of the day, academy address, and other related information related to the academy
- Perform general clerical duties, including photocopying, drafting correspondence (in both English and Spanish), and managing appointment schedules
- Efficiently coordinate conference room bookings and manage appointment scheduling
- Maintain, and stock office supplies, including managing the commercial copier machines and inventory
OTHER EXPECTED DUTIES
- Assist in securing U.S. personnel accommodations when visiting the DR
- Assist with registering try-out players on the AMT- MLB system
- Assist the Facility Maintenance team by organizing academy’s work orders, tracking their status, and assisting in invoice collection
- Assist the Dietitian team with players’ meeting translations, as needed
- Assist with day-to-day operations tasks, as needed (Track snack counts during special camps; Pay Player’s weekly Meal Money)
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- 2+ years of administrative experience
- Must be bilingual in written and spoken form- Spanish and English
- Professional attitude and appearance, with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages- Spanish and English
- Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (i.e.: Excel, Word, Powerpoint), & Google Drive (i.e.: Docs, Sheets, Forms)
- Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and possess a strong work ethic
- Must be able to interact professionally with players, coaches, front office personnel, and medical and training staff
- Must have a valid Dominican Driver’s License
- Must have the ability to handle flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
