Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and content-driven Social Media Manager to lead the organic and paid social media narrative across Merchant, Payments, Insurance, and Lending categories. This individual will combine creative instincts with sharp executional rigor to build platform-first content, lead strategic storytelling, and activate high-impact campaigns. Experience with GenAI tools, paid media strategy, and social listening is highly preferred.
This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can seamlessly collaborate with internal teams, agency partners, and business leaders to drive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute platform-specific social strategies for Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Facebook for key business verticals
- Create monthly content calendars mapped to business objectives, launches, campaigns, and cultural moments
- Align content plans with performance marketing, PR, and digital CRM efforts
2. Content Creation & Leadership
- Drive storytelling across formats—reels, carousels, static posts, explainers, and motion content
- Translate business offerings into human, relatable, and engaging narratives for digital audiences
- Identify platform trends and adapt them to PhonePe’s brand voice and content style
3. Paid Social Integration
- Work with internal media and agency teams to brief and guide paid social campaigns
- Understand targeting, creative best practices, and platform-specific ad formats
- Optimize organic content for boosting and align with performance campaigns when required
4. Social Listening & Insights
- Use tools like Sprinklr or native analytics to monitor brand mentions, sentiment, and category conversations
- Surface actionable insights to stakeholders and identify opportunities for real-time engagement or content pivots
- Benchmark against competitors and track evolving audience preferences
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with product, business, and customer success teams to translate GTM strategies into compelling social-first content
- Partner with creative, brand, and media teams to ensure consistency in messaging and tone
- Coordinate closely with CRM and community teams to close the feedback loop with users
6. Innovation & AI-Driven Creativity
- Leverage GenAI tools for faster ideation, creative drafts, and concept experimentation
- Explore AI-led creative formats, automated workflows, and innovative campaign ideas
What You’ll Need
- 7–8 years of experience in social media strategy and content marketing, ideally in fintech, BFSI, or high-growth consumer tech
- Strong content instincts and the ability to craft thumb-stopping creatives with storytelling at the core
- Experience managing or collaborating on paid social media campaigns and understanding media performance metrics
- Expertise in social listening tools like Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Meltwater.
- Hands-on experience with Meta Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, X Pro, YouTube Studio
- Familiarity with GenAI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly) for experimentation and content workflows
- Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to operate in ambiguity, manage tight timelines, and juggle multiple workstreams simultaneously
