The Role
The Honest Company is on the lookout for a dedicated Regulatory Affairs Specialist to champion our mission of transparency and trust. In this position, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our products meet North American regulatory standards, guiding our Product Development, Marketing, and Legal teams along the way. What you’ll do:
- Serve as the Regulatory lead on cross-functional development teams ensuring product approvals, formula validation, claim review/substantiation and labeling
- Maintain and develop ingredient listings for finished products
- Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and Creative on product labels, artwork design, and advertising to ensure label compliance with regulations
- Assist in preparing product reports for submission to retailers and/or regulatory agencies for registration and notification processes
- Provide guidance on regulatory requirements to cross-functional teams and other stakeholders
- Maintain regulatory archives and product registration databases
- Evaluate US state and Canada regulatory landscape, assess potential impacts on product formulation and labeling, and contribute to providing internal guidance and updates to the key stakeholders
- Review product labels, company literature, and marketing material for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with contract manufacturers and internal teams to gather and evaluate raw material and product documentation
- Assist in investigating and resolving product and process problems related to regulatory issues
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices
- Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies
- Maintain documentation of regulatory activities and due diligence

What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree life sciences, chemistry, or a related field.
- 2+years of regulatory affairs experience or relevant coursework, preferably in Personal care, baby care or cosmetics industry
- Working knowledge of cosmetics, baby and personal care products regulations/ guidelines as well as claim substantiation
- The ability to think critically and strategically, capable of effectively interpreting and communicating the impact of regulations to various stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $66,000 - $92,000. Actual compensation is based on many factors including but not limited to depth of experience, skill level, ability, knowledge, education, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total rewards package for this position may also include base, annual incentive plan, benefits, retirement plan, equity, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
