About Us:
Pico MES is an innovative startup focused on revolutionizing the manufacturing landscape with our state-of-the-art Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Our mission is to empower manufacturers with real-time insights, streamlined operations, and enhanced productivity through tailored software and integration solutions. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Data to lead our data initiatives and drive the development of data-driven solutions that enhance our MES offerings.
About this Role
As the Senior Data Engineer at Pico MES, you are excited about building data systems powering everything from factory-floor insights to organizational analytics. This person will be responsible for improving and maintaining our data pipeline architecture. This is a particularly key role as we commercialize new solutions to allow factories to share their data across the supply chain. The ideal candidate loves designing, building, and deploying high performance data pipeline systems with reliable monitoring and logging practices and is excited about owning data architecture projects that allow us to scale.
What You’ll Do:
- Support existing data pipelines and systems in production.
- Work with engineers to build comprehensive data products for consumption by internal and external teams.
- Design and develop new data pipelines and processes that are highly available, scalable, and reliable.
- Improve our infrastructure for testing data models to enable more comprehensive unit tests, assumption checks on source data, and performance testing.
- Help explore and evaluate new technologies.
Who You Are:
- 5+ years experience building and maintaining analytics systems.
- 5+ years programming experience, SQL required, Python preferred, golang a plus.
- Experience with an orchestration tool (ex: Dagster), monitoring/alerting tooling (ex: Prometheus); experience with dbt is a plus.
- Effective communicator.
- Ability to tune queries and databases for performance.
- Derive satisfaction from simplifying complexities (people, process, data, visuals, comms, etc).
