Purpose of the role

We are hiring a senior Corvil Sales Engineer in New York to help accelerate Corvil growth across the Americas. This role will be a technical leader for pre-sales engagement, customer discovery, solution design, proof-of-value execution and technical account development for Corvil Analytics. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, product, services and engineering to position Corvil as a strategic observability and analytics platform for complex capital markets environments. The role requires deep credibility with senior technical stakeholders, hands-on expertise in trading infrastructure and packet-derived analytics, and the commercial judgement to connect technical capability to customer outcomes, bookings growth and long-term account expansion.

Responsibilities and duties (include but are not limited to)

  • Lead technical discovery and solution positioning for Corvil Analytics across banks, brokers, exchanges, market makers, service providers and strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Translate customer pain points into clear Corvil value propositions, including trading business observability, network and application observability, market data quality, execution transparency, compliance evidence, operational resilience and faster incident resolution.
  • Build trust with senior technical and business stakeholders across trading technology, network engineering, application support, market data, operations, compliance, quants and executive sponsor groups.
  • Own the technical sales motion from qualification through architecture design, proof-of-value, sizing, proposal support and technical validation.
  • Provide hands-on post-sales configuration and implementation support where appropriate, including deployment planning, initial system configuration, data capture validation, use-case enablement and knowledge transfer to customer operations, engineering and support teams
  • Design credible Corvil architectures covering network capture, analytics, protocol decoding, timestamping, storage, streaming data, integrations and deployment across complex multi-site trading environments.
  • Run high-impact demonstrations and proof-of-value engagements using customer use cases, live traffic where appropriate and outcome-based success criteria.
  • Partner with sales to develop account plans, identify expansion opportunities, support pipeline progression and help convert technical engagement into bookings.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Corvil from network monitoring into broader trading analytics, enterprise observability, data platform, AI-ready integration and operational intelligence use cases.
  • Capture customer requirements, competitive intelligence and field feedback, and work with product management and engineering to influence roadmap priorities.
  • Support customer workshops, executive briefings, RFP responses, technical proposals, commercial risk reviews and regional Corvil roadshows.
  • Work closely with Corvil Services and Support to ensure clean handover from pre-sales to delivery, customer success and long-term value realization.
  • Develop APAC regional capability by sharing best practices, mentoring sales and services colleagues, and helping build repeatable playbooks for Corvil demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements and customer enablement.

 

Technical Skills

  • Practical knowledge of network protocols, switching and packet aggregation, including TCP/IP, UDP multicast, VLANs, SPAN/TAP feeds, aggregation switches, packet brokers and traffic delivery to monitoring or analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of electronic trading architectures, including market data plants, feed handlers, order gateways, FIX engines, smart order routers, matching engines, exchange connectivity, colocation and WAN connectivity.
  • Hands-on familiarity with trading and market data protocols such as FIX, binary order entry, multicast market data, middleware and exchange-specific protocol variants.
  • Experience with observability platforms and data integrations, including APIs, streaming data, Kafka, Elastic, Splunk, KX, time-series databases or similar analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of AI-ready data pipelines, operational data access, analytics workflows and how high-fidelity Corvil data can support automation, investigation and decision support.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud, virtual appliances, traffic mirroring, containerized environments and hybrid trading infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of network security, enterprise hardening, encryption considerations, role-based access, operational controls and regulated financial-services environments.
  • Ability to create and present technical architectures, deployment options, sizing assumptions, proof-of-value plans and customer-facing solution documentation.
  • Corvil CCE certification, prior Corvil deployment experience, CCNP or equivalent networking certification is highly desirable.

 

Education, Skills and Background (including experience requirements)

  • Senior pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, trading technology, network engineering or professional services background, ideally with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven credibility with capital markets customers, preferably including exchanges, global banks, brokers, market makers, hedge funds, service providers or market infrastructure firms.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to connect technical capability to customer value, risk reduction, operational efficiency, regulatory confidence and revenue expansion.
  • Strong executive communication skills: able to simplify complex technology, lead whiteboard discussions, write concise customer-facing material and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on technical depth combined with the judgement to know when to stay strategic, when to go deep and when to bring in product, services or engineering support.
  • Proactive ownership mindset: comfortable driving opportunities, managing technical actions, escalating blockers and maintaining momentum across complex sales cycles.
  • Strong collaboration skills across sales, product, services, support and engineering, with a practical understanding of how pre-sales commitments affect delivery and customer success.
  • Ability to travel across North America for customer meetings, proof-of-value engagements, workshops, industry events and internal enablement sessions.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; Cantonese, Mandarin or Japanese language capability would be advantageous for regional coverage.

 

Working Arrangements 

This is a hybrid position with [weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home]. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certification. 

New York Pay range

$150,000 - $180,000 USD
