
Underwriting Quality Analyst
Reporting directly to our Manager of Quality & Training, the Quality Analyst will be primarily responsible for ensuring the company’s policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will promote a continuous improvement environment through the consistent application of the Quality programs along with participating in the training and development of the staff to improve knowledge and skills. They will have a deep understanding of the Pie Underwriting Appetite, Pie Department Manuals, systems, and guidelines.
How You’ll Do It
- Within the framework of the department’s Quality Program, conducts individual file audits, ensuring consistent application of rules and internal processing guidelines in the underwriting, audit, and customer service departments. Gathers and analyzes data collected from the quality reviews.
- Promotes quality awareness and adherence to procedures, identifies trends, coaching, and training opportunities.
- Consistently applies integrative thinking to solve for underlying needs and determine trends as a basis to develop training for team members to improve.
- Assists in the facilitation and presentation of trainings across various departments.
- Coordinates and participates in quality meetings, consistency checks, and calibration sessions.
- Provides subject matter expertise to underwriters and other internal customers. This includes providing guidance on department procedures.
- Provides guidance to individuals within the underwriting, audit, and customer service departments to grow their knowledge of processes, systems, regulatory requirements, and company expectations with the goal of helping them become self-sufficient and subject matter experts.
- Assists in the development of workflow strategies to ensure goals are met, and facilitates refresher training as required.
- Participates in process improvement teams/projects and other problem-solving processes to drive improvements. Provides guidance and direction on new procedures/systems, ensures they are adopted by the department.
The Right Stuff
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 4+ years of related professional experience such as working within an insurance quality analyst or underwriting role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of workers compensation and commercial auto in multiple states along with general insurance knowledge.
- Knowledge of web-based and cloud platforms is preferred.
- Extending ability to eagerly learn from your own and other’s mistakes in order to consistently raise the performance bar and be better tomorrow than today
- Seek to understand multiple points of view and needs.
- Engage in clear communication and be able to keep the audience engaged while delivering effective presentations
- Give and receive feedback in an open, direct, and empathetic manner.
- The ability to manage complex situations with multiple layers, and resolve to anticipate needs now and into the future.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Experience communicating in internal chat platforms, like Slack or Teams.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in work processes and systems.
Base Compensation Range
$70,000 - $90,000 USD

Location Information
Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
