The Role:

The Banking Relationship Lead reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer and is responsible for leading Piermont Bank's client relationship and service efforts. This role ensures the delivery of a best-in-class client experience while supporting deposit growth, deepening client relationships, and driving continuous improvement across client-facing operations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned banking professional with an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for client service, and a commitment to operational excellence and business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the client relationship function, ensuring appropriate coverage, effective resource allocation, and a consistently high level of service delivery.
  • Identify and acquire new banking opportunities for Piermont Bank through business development initiatives, referral generation, and marketing campaign efforts.
  • Grow relationships with existing clients by understanding their business needs and delivering tailored banking solutions and exceptional service.
  • Oversee the client experience, including new client onboarding, treasury management product support, account servicing, and issue resolution.
  • Support talent development activities, including participation in recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and the ongoing development of team members.
  • Collaborate effectively across internal teams to address client needs, streamline processes, and enhance the overall client experience.
  • Provide oversight and guidance related to deposit operations, client servicing activities, regulatory requirements, security protocols, and internal controls to ensure operational integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of client-related operational tasks and service requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and client-facing procedures to increase efficiency and enhance the client experience.
  • Support business development and marketing strategies through participation in industry events, community engagement activities, networking opportunities, and client meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant banking experience, including business banking, commercial banking, treasury management, deposit operations, retail banking, business development, or related disciplines.
  • Strong business development skills and a demonstrated track record of generating new business and growing client relationships.
  • Experience leading client-facing teams or functions with a proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate others while maintaining a strong service culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an exceptional client experience and drive client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, deposit operations, treasury management services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to assess industry trends, identify growth opportunities, and leverage internal resources to expand banking relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in retail banking, branch management, commercial banking, or regional banking leadership roles preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $130,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
