The SVP, Head of Project Finance is the senior-most leader overseeing all aspects of project finance, driving the financial success of solar and renewable energy projects. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and executing strategic financial plans, leading complex deal structuring and negotiations, and managing a high-performing team to deliver optimal financial outcomes. The SVP will play a key role in ensuring the company’s growth and leadership within the renewable energy sector.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the strategic direction for project finance activities.
- Lead and guide to deal teams during major financing transactions.
- Support project acquisitions by validating financing assumptions.
- Lead project and deal marketing to potential investors and buyers. Identify and manage new financing party relationships.
- Coordinate closing with development finance and treasury leadership for liquidity planning and strategic corporate planning.
- Lead deal execution, including raising tax equity and debt.
- Be accountable for due diligence and assess project risks in the context of financing execution.
- Oversee financial models, marketing materials, and financing negotiations.
- Oversee coordination with finance providers on due diligence and documentation.
- Lead investor relations activities with lenders and tax equity investors
- Oversee the financial closing process for projects.
- Partner with other senior leaders on financing matters.
Must-haves
- 12 or more years’ project finance experience in renewable energy or infrastructure preferred.
- Proven ability to structure sophisticated project finance deals, leveraging capital markets, tax equity, and debt solutions to optimize financial outcomes for large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Lead the development of long-term financial strategies, aligning project finance initiatives with broader corporate goals and market opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
- Oversee comprehensive risk analysis, identifying and mitigating financial risks related to currency fluctuations, interest rates, project timelines, and market conditions.
- Skilled in leading negotiations with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and government agencies, to secure favorable terms and close high-value project finance deals.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy project lifecycles, financing mechanisms, and regulatory landscapes, enabling the successful financial management of solar, wind, and other clean energy projects.
Education and Certifications
- MBA or similar degree preferred
