The Associate Course Developer, is an important contributor to the Ping Identity Customer Training Development team, supporting the creation of engaging learning content for customers, partners, and Identians.
This position contributes to the active development of courses and certifications, that explain Ping Identity product capabilities and features, with a primary focus on foundational content for developers, system integrators, and system administrators.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Certification and Curriculum Development and directly supports the Training team’s mission to deliver high-quality, hands-on technical curriculum globally, enabling learners to effectively use Ping Identity products.
Responsibilities
Technical Course Development
- Assist in creating engaging, hands-on, task-based training resources for specific technical audiences, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to ensure technical accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive learning materials, including student training guides, workbooks, lab environments, certification questions, and instructor presentation decks for foundational courses.
- Migrate content from external resources into approved development tools, ensuring alignment with established quality and style standards.
- Maintain and enhance existing curriculum content by implementing required adjustments and supporting timely releases based on learner feedback.
- Contribute to initiatives and projects that support initiatives and projects aligned with training and business priorities.
Learner and Instructor Support
- Provide technical assistance by responding to student enquiries via the Ping Identity Training ticketing system for courses you support, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Support technical marketing and enablement initiatives for Ping Identity Training by contributing content such as FAQs, webinars, social media posts, and short videos.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (for example, Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 experience with technical training material design and development, including online or virtual labs, or a strong desire to develop these skills.
- Foundational understanding of instructional design principles.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, effective training content under guidance.
- Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of software developers, system integrators, and system administrators, with the ability to review content from a learner’s perspective.
- Developing writing, editing, and content-structuring skills.
- Familiarity with content development tools such as iSpring and Markdown, or the ability to learn these tools quickly.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including developing editing and proofreading capabilities, to support a global audience.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to support project management activities.
- Ability to work independently on defined tasks and collaboratively within a distributed team across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some exposure to Ping Identity products.
- Foundational knowledge of Markdown, HTML, Git (or other source control systems), and mind-mapping tools.
- Foundational system administration knowledge of Windows, CentOS Linux, or other Linux/UNIX operating systems.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, load balancing, REST APIs, virtual and cloud machines, and network security concepts (SSL/TLS).
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, OIDC, and LDAP data stores.
- Basic knowledge of development or scripting, ideally in JavaScript, Java, or Groovy.
- Awareness of at least one major cloud platform, such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
