The Course Developer is responsible for developing formal learning content for Ping Identity’s customer courses, certifications, and workshops. You will create engaging, technically accurate curriculum content that explains Ping Identity product capabilities and features to developers, system integrators, and system administrators worldwide.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Certification and Curriculum Development and is vital in supporting the Training team’s mission: enabling customers, partners, and staff to use the full functionality of Ping Identity products.
Note: Ideal candidate for this role will be working in EMEA Shift (1.30 PM to 10.30 PM)
Responsibilities
Technical Course Development
- Collaborate with and become a Ping Identity Subject Matter Expert to design and develop engaging, hands-on, task-based training materials for specific technical audiences.
- Develop comprehensive student training guides, lab exercises, assessment items, and instructor teaching aids, with guidance on delivery modalities (instructor-led, e-learning, video, or virtual).
- Build and configure Ping Identity products to support realistic lab environments, ensuring steps are clearly documented.
- Test and refine training deliverables (labs, guides, presentations) to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Maintain and enhance existing content, making necessary adjustments and releasing timely updates, including incorporating learner feedback from survey results.
- Take ownership and manage assigned course projects or components, while contributing to larger team initiatives.
Learner and Instructor Support
- Provide expert technical assistance answering student inquiries over the Ping Identity for courses you support as a curriculum lead, providing clear and timely guidance.
- Assist authorised instructors by clarifying course materials and supporting effective delivery.
- Contribute to technical marketing initiatives (FAQs, webinars, social content, or videos) in partnership with the Training team.
Course Delivery
- Deliver Train-The-Trainer sessions and Alpha & Beta classes for courses where you are the curriculum subject matter expert, engaging with the global instructor network and providing training to internal or external audiences as required.
- Support education consultancy for potential private events by providing guidance to align course content you are an SME for with customer event requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Engineering preferred) or equivalent professional work experience.
- 6-9 years of experience in technical training course development (including use of virtual labs).
- Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of software developers, integrators, and system administrators.
- Strong technical writing, editing and content structuring skills.
- Familiarity with system administration (Windows, Linux/UNIX), TCP/IP networking, load balancing, REST APIs, virtual/cloud machines, and network security concepts (SSL/TLS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in instructional design and the ability to simplify complex technical topics into engaging and effective training.
- Ability to review content from a learner’s perspective and provide constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with training authoring tools (iSpring, Markdown, MindNode).
- Prior experience as a technical course developer and instructor.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, as well as editing and proofreading skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively across a globally dispersed team.
- Knowledge of Ping Identity products (PingOne Platform) or equivalent IAM platforms.
- Exposure to identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, OIDC, LDAP) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Awareness of DevOps practices (automation, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Awareness of best practices in creating, developing and publishing content to multiple formats
