Associate Underwriter

What you’ll do:
Utilize underwriting expertise, communication, and problem-solving skills to create a preeminent experience for our customers while ensuring that workers’ compensation insurance policies are underwritten profitably, fairly, and accurately.
What you can expect:
Customer Advocate
- Educate and guide customers through the complicated world of workers’ compensation insurance, ensuring that their policy is written accurately and, just as importantly, that they understand it.
- Partner with our agents to identify and implement opportunities to reduce customer costs.
Innovator
- Collaborate with our product team to identify and share customer pain points, helping drive solutions that decrease cost and continually improve customer satisfaction.
- Assist with continually improving internal processes with a strong emphasis on Lean methodology and philosophy.
Decision Scientist
- Use data analytics and pricing tools to appropriately price workers’ compensation policies and identify actionable insights for customers.
- Collaborate with our data science team to develop new reports and models to drive pricing accuracy.
- Utilize workers’ compensation knowledge to review applications and policies, ensuring that exposures are classified correctly and accurately priced while following NCCI rules and state statutes.
Sales Executive
- Leverage sales techniques to build long-term relationships with customers and agents, guiding them through the sales process and adding value to their business through creating and using commercial insights.
- Proactively develop and pursue leads to achieve new business goals.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in customer worksite visits, agency visits, and other key business meetings.
- Participate in Lean activities to promote continuous process improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
In addition to the competencies outlined below, a successful candidate will have two or more years of previous experience working directly with customers and be comfortable operating in a sales environment. Bilingual is a plus. Prior underwriting experience is strongly preferred.

The compensation for this role is $56,000.00-$58,400.00. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including your experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
