
Youth Apprentice - Customer Service Representative

What you’ll do:
This part-time position is a Registered Youth Apprenticeship through the U.S. Department of Labor and CareerWise USA. Due to federal and state statutory program guidelines, youth apprentices are defined as ages 16-24.
This registered youth apprenticeship features a structured 3-year on-the-job training and educational curriculum designed to take you from foundational learning to advanced professional skills. While the training program is mapped over three years, employment is at-will. This means both you and the Company retain the right to terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or advance notice.

What you can expect:
- Attend a classroom training consisting of 20+ business acumen and core competency workshops.
- Learn the "ins and outs" of workers’ compensation so you can clearly explain rules and procedures to customers using your own problem-solving skills.
- Represent the company by handling phone calls, emails, and faxes with a consistent, helpful, and professional attitude.
- Keep things running smoothly by prioritizing a variety of tasks, like sorting emails and managing faxes, in a fast-paced environment.
- Help update customer accounts by preparing and processing important documents, such as insurance certificates and address changes.
- Accurately process customer payments via credit card or electronic transfer, ensuring every transaction is error-free.
- Collaborate daily with your teammates to hit our goals and make sure every customer feels supported.
- Support non-profit community organizations through paid volunteer opportunities.
What you need to be successful:
- Must be able to work Monday through Thursday afternoons.
- Must possess or be actively working towards a high school diploma or GED by the start date
- Must be eligible to register as a CareerWise youth apprentice.
- Being bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

- CURIOSITY/INQUIRY: The disposition to respectfully and tactfully ask questions, investigate, research and/or demonstrate an inherent motivation to learn and grow in familiarity with a certain subject area or circumstance.
- INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: Locating and collecting data from appropriate sources and analyzing it to prepare meaningful and concise reports that summarize the information.

The compensation amount for this role is targeted and aligned with our USDOL Registered Apprenticeship status at $19.29/hr with progressive annual merit based increases throughout the duration of the program.
