AI/ML Software Developer (.NET)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pioneering Evolution is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer (Mid or Senior Level) to support development and integration work on a mission-critical web-based application used by the U.S. Marine Corps. In this role, you will focus on developing scalable .NET Core applications with embedded Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities. You will collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to bring advanced intelligence features—such as predictive analytics, natural language processing, and anomaly detection—into production environments.

You will be instrumental in modernizing application features and enhancing automation capabilities through AI/ML model integration, leveraging technologies such as AWS Lambda, SageMaker, and containerized microservices. This is a hybrid position based in the Washington D.C. metro area, with on-site requirements as needed. All candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core).

  • 2+ years of experience integrating AI/ML models or services into production systems.

  • Strong background in consuming ML models via REST APIs, Python services, ONNX runtime, or ML.NET.

  • Experience working with at least one cloud provider (AWS preferred), including AWS Lambda, Fargate, or SageMaker.

  • Proficiency in building and deploying containerized applications using Docker and working within microservice architectures.

  • Solid understanding of secure software development principles and privacy considerations in ML pipelines.

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT discipline.

  • Active Secret Clearance (or Public Trust with eligibility for upgrade).

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or spaCy.

  • Background implementing intelligent automation, recommendation systems, or NLP features in .NET applications.

  • Experience with DevOps tools and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging tools (SQS, SNS, Kafka).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience mentoring team members on AI/ML concepts and software integration techniques.
