Junior Frontend Developer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pioneering Evolution is seeking a Junior Frontend Developer to assist in the development of modular, accessible user interfaces using Angular for a secure, mission-focused federal software platform. This role provides an excellent opportunity for early-career developers to grow their skills in a collaborative environment while contributing to systems that emphasize user experience, security, and compliance. Under the mentorship of senior engineers and designers, the Junior Frontend Developer will learn best practices in modern frontend development and participate in delivering high-quality, user-centered solutions. Other key responsibilities include:

Assist in the development and testing of Angular components and interface features that align with project goals and architectural standards.

Participate in peer code reviews and apply best practices related to accessibility, responsiveness, and compliance.

Support the implementation of consistent design patterns and responsive layouts across devices and browsers.

Collaborate with senior frontend developers and UI/UX designers to learn secure, maintainable development techniques.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and team-based activities, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

Exposure to frontend development using Angular or similar frameworks (coursework, internships, or early work experience).

Willingness to learn and apply accessibility standards, secure development practices, and audit-compliant design principles.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to learning and contributing.

Must be available to work full-time and on-site in the Washington D.C. metro area.

U.S. Citizenship and active Secret Clearance are required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Exposure to version control tools such as Git and familiarity with modern frontend development tooling (e.g., npm, Webpack).

Interest in developing expertise in user-centered design and security-conscious application development.

Familiarity with performance optimization, responsive design, and test-driven development concepts.
