We’re currently on the lookout for exceptional pirates to join our crew as a Director of Business Operations otherwise known as a Chart Plotter to us here at Pirate Ship.

Responsibilities:

  • Chart a course: You will be reporting to the SVP of Operations, a member of the Pirate Ship executive team, and develop a world-class Business Operations function for the company with a mission to chart a course for operational excellence, delivering a magical experience for both our crew and the customers who sail with us. 
  • Cartography: Manage planning and OKR setting process across the company and in partnership with other functions such as Product, Marketing  and Finance.
  • Boost the coconut telegraph:  Enhance the cadence and quality of communications across the organization.
  • Use the spyglass: Support the development, tracking, and reporting of key metrics and OKRs in collaboration with Analytics and Finance teams, including all customer retention analysis.
  • Aft rigging: Ensure we have the tooling to support operational effectiveness roadmap, and partner with the People/IT team to enhance the tool set where needed.
  • Navigate the seas: Partner with cross-functional teams to build and optimize processes to drive a high-performing organization, driving efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
  • Gather round the grog: Build strong cross-functional relationships with teams including Sales and Account Management, Business Unit leadership, Product and Marketing.
  • A constructive marlin spike: Communicate effectively, candidly, collaboratively, and challenge constructively to create rapport and establish trust
  • Ride the seas of change: You’re comfortable in a remote environment where there’s lots of change.
  • Sail from your port o’ call: You’re able to work from home and connect with your crewmates throughout the day over chat, voice, and video through company provided equipment. Quarterly in-person meetings at varied locations.
  • Hoist the Jolly Roger: Share your experience, expertise and interest with the crew to enhance our fun and progressive culture.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a highly analytical environment such as operations & strategy in a top tech firm, management consulting firm, or investment bank.
  • Leadership experience in a hyper-growth Saas or digital marketplace.
  • Exposure to high-performance leadership teams with a deeply collaborative outlook, builder mentality, execution mindset, and transparent and inspirational attitude.
  • High self-awareness and personal determination combined with high energy and low-ego style that drives results and outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills including experience in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Track record of leading and proactively managing end-to-end execution of strategic projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A flexible mindset to adapt to our rapidly changing work environment.
  • Must be within 3 timezones from Eastern Standard Time.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation - The pay range for this role is $230,000-$245,000 yearly USD plus a performance based bonus.
  • Vacation Time - We offer 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start to keep our pirates rested & rejuvenated! 
  • Paid Holidays - 12 paid holidays per year.
  • Paid Sick Time - 80 hours annually.
  • Medical Insurance - 100% covered for Pirates by the company and kicks in the first of the month after enrollment. If you want to add any dependents (spouse, partner or children), they’ll be 50% covered.
  • Dental and Vision -  100% covered for Pirates and 50% covered for dependents.
  • 401(K) - We offer a Traditional 401(K) and a Roth 401(K), and pirates who contribute 1-3% of their annual salary get matched 100% by the company.
  • Parental Leave - Full 12 weeks for parents for the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.
  • Home Office Reimbursement - We provide a one-time home office reimbursement of up to $1,500 to purchase an ergonomic desk and chair.
  • Other Stipends for Remote Individuals - Wifi & snacks, we’ve got y’er back!
  • Virtual Tacos for ARRrrrsome Rewards- “Hey Taco!” is our employee recognition program where you can give and receive virtual "Tacos" which can be redeemed for rewards.
