We’re currently on the lookout for exceptional pirates to join our crew as a Fraud Senior Manager otherwise known as a Fraud Commodore to us here at Pirate Ship.

Responsibilities:

Fraud Team Leadership & Development
- Codify the process: Strengthen fraud prevention capabilities by expanding and optimizing the fraud team structure, ensuring efficient handling of fraud-related cases and proactive risk mitigation.
- Dig up treasure: Foster a culture of vigilance, ownership, and expertise within the fraud team, ensuring strong alignment with Pirate Ship’s values.
Project & Process Development
- Scuttle the competition: Lead strategic fraud initiatives, enhancing fraud response capabilities and optimizing investigation methodologies to strengthen overall risk management.
- Cartography: Serve as the primary fraud project manager, ensuring cross-functional teams stay aligned and fraud initiatives are executed efficiently.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work
- Story scrawling: Work closely with Product counterparts to align on priorities, ensuring fraud prevention initiatives are integrated into the product roadmap.
- Navigate the seas: Act as a key partner to Legal & Compliance, ensuring fraud processes align with regulatory and risk management requirements. Collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams as needed on security-related fraud topics.
- Hoist the flag: Educate the CX department and broader organization on fraud trends, best practices, and emerging risks.
Fraud Reporting & Insights
- Fathom finding: Work with the VP of CX to iterate fraud reporting coverage and cadence.
- Batten down the hatches: Provide fraud insights and recommendations based on data trends, improving fraud detection and mitigation strategies.
- Find the tradewinds: Partner with analytics teams to build data models that enhance fraud prevention efforts.
- Ride the seas of change: You’re comfortable in a remote environment where there’s lots of change.
- Sail from your port o’ call: You’re able to work from home and connect with your crewmates throughout the day over chat, voice, and video through company provided equipment. Quarterly in-person meetings at varied locations.
- Hoist the Jolly Roger: Share your experience, expertise and interest with the crew to enhance our fun and progressive culture.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or a related field.
- Strong background in fraud investigation, risk assessment, and fraud prevention strategy development.
- Experience leading teams, building new functions, developing high-performing fraud teams, and lead with a player-coach mentality.
- Proficiency in fraud tools and other risk management technologies.
- Excellent cross-functional project management skills with a proven ability to align stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex fraud data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in fraud prevention.
- Experience working with Product, Legal, IT, and Cybersecurity teams.
Bonus Points For/Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the ecommerce, fintech, or shipping/logistics industries.
- Experience working with micro and small businesses, understanding their unique support needs and challenges.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation - The pay range for this role is $165,000-$175,000 yearly USD plus a performance based bonus.
- Vacation Time - We offer 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start to keep our pirates rested & rejuvenated!
- Paid Holidays - 12 paid holidays per year.
- Paid Sick Time - 80 hours annually.
- Medical Insurance - 100% covered for Pirates by the company and kicks in the first of the month after enrollment. If you want to add any dependents (spouse, partner or children), they’ll be 50% covered.
- Dental and Vision - 100% covered for Pirates and 50% covered for dependents.
- 401(K) - We offer a Traditional 401(K) and a Roth 401(K), and pirates who contribute 1-3% of their annual salary get matched 100% by the company.
- Parental Leave - Full 12 weeks for parents for the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.
- Home Office Reimbursement - We provide a one-time home office reimbursement of up to $1,500 to purchase an ergonomic desk and chair.
- Other Stipends for Remote Individuals - Wifi & snacks, we’ve got y’er back!
