
Legal Assistant
Founded in 2006, Pirkey Barber is one of the largest firms in the United States focused on trademark, trade dress, copyright, and unfair competition law. We are frequently recognized as one of the leading trademark firms in the country. We are seeking a legal assistant to perform a variety of administrative duties for assigned attorney(s). The legal assistant will maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff and observe confidentiality of client matters.
- Draft and prepare correspondence, legal documents, and emails from written or oral instructions
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel (domestic and international), and maintain deadline reminders
- Handle phone calls, voicemail, mail, and electronic filings; ensuring timely document routing and delivery
- Open and close client files, conduct conflict checks, and maintain confidentiality in all client interactions
- Assist with billing by reviewing pre-bills and entering attorney time
- Conduct research using PACER, Secretary of State databases, USPTO, and other online resources
- Coordinate with administrative staff and provide training or guidance to new team members
Qualifications
- 5+ years of law firm experience with a concentration in or heavy experience in litigation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, timekeeping and billing systems.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This hybrid position will report into our Austin office and will be required to work in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.
Salary
- $65,000 - $85,000 per year (eligible for overtime)
