IT Support Specialist

About the Role
Founded in 2006, Pirkey Barber is one of the largest firms in the United States focused on trademark, trade dress, copyright, and unfair competition law. We are frequently recognized as one of the leading trademark firms in the country. We are seeking a proactive IT Support Specialist to strengthen our firm’s technology operations. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting, internal system expertise, user training, and coordination with our third-party IT provider. The ideal candidate will understand our internal processes and ensure consistent, high-quality support across the firm.
This hybrid position is located at our Austin office and will be required to work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.
What You’ll Do
- Provide Tier 1 and 2 desktop and application support for attorneys and staff.
- Serve as the internal escalation point for issues beyond third-party support.
- Maintain and troubleshoot firm-specific systems, applications, and automations.
- Collaborate with external IT vendors to ensure compliance with internal standards.
- Track and document recurring issues, solutions, and best practices.
- Develop and deliver user training, guides, and reference materials.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Oversee and review third-party IT ticket handling and performance.
- Recommend improvements to workflows, onboarding, and support processes.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of IT support experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and Autopilot.
- Experience managing or partnering with third-party IT vendors.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Organized, proactive problem-solver with attention to detail.
- Preferred: Familiarity with NetDocuments, WebTMS, or similar legal/business applications.
Salary
- $70,000 - $85,000 per year (eligible for overtime)
