About the Role:
Solution Architects on Planet’s Professional Services team are experienced technologists dedicated to ensuring customers’ success with Planet’s product offering. As a Solution Architect, you will understand users’ challenges and apply innovative solutions that address their specific needs. The impact of your work will be directly reflected in the customer’s ability to harness Planet’s capabilities, turning global insights into actionable change.
In this role, you will support a major customer of Planet in the defense and intelligence sector, using your expertise in remote sensing and geospatial technologies to ensure their successful adoption of the Planet Insights Platform. Your deep knowledge of Planet’s data and APIs will be crucial in helping the customer build tailored solutions that are aligned with their operational needs.
This is a full-time position supporting Planet’s global defense and intelligence (D&I) business unit. You are required to be in-office full-time at the customer’s facilities in Doha, Qatar, working closely with their teams to drive optimal outcomes from Planet’s product offerings.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Understand and align Professional Services project development to the customer’s operational and technology strategies
- Build software tools, proofs of concept and sample applications, and continuously improve the solutions that the customer experiences using Planet’s APIs and analytics endpoints
- Own the customer success lifecycle for Professional Services engagements with the client, from scoping and discovery, to project execution and delivery. Activities may include, amongst others, writing requirements documents, applying your expertise in data analytics, collaborating with software engineers, leading a training event, or delivering solutions to the client
- Be the client’s primary technical point of contact, supporting all Planet products and offerings in-person and online, providing training, technical tutorials, and technical assistance
- Influence the direction of Planet’s products and offerings by gathering insights from your engagements with the customer
- Assist with technical writing for proposals and project reports
What You Bring:
- 4+ years experience working in a technical geospatial or remote sensing role
- 5+ years experience supporting GEOINT work for D&I customers
- Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography or a related field
- Proven ability programming with Python to process imagery, manipulate vector data, interact with APIs and build data pipelines
- Expertise with QGIS, Esri software, GDAL or other common geospatial software
- Experience leading customer engagements with technical aptitude, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to run workshops or training sessions with users
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in the Arabic language
- Ability to work in an English-speaking environment, the language of the company
