About the Role:
The Sustainability and Impact Team at Planet is seeking a new Impact Engagement Manager. This role will have frontline responsibilities to work with external partners in areas like conservation, climate, nature, public health, and humanitarian action, to help us fulfill our mission to Use Space to Help Life on Earth.
The Impact Engagement Manager will ensure exceptional outcomes in every part of the lifecycle of an engagement, from conception and enablement to impact measurement. Your mission will be to become a trusted collaborator, with a strong understanding of our product suite and its application in impact-oriented use cases. You will need to establish and maintain trust with important partners and coordinate closely with many internal groups, including our Legal, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Product teams. Ideal candidates will be excited to partner with leading universities, NGOs and nonprofits, intergovernmental bodies, and companies across cultures and countries on implementing and scaling innovative technologies.
This is a full-time, remote position based in Europe. If located near one of our offices, you will be expected to work from that office at least three days per week.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Coordinate Impact programs and special projects while making sure they are delivered with excellence, particularly those involving Planet’s digital public goods and response to natural disasters and crisis events.
- Build and maintain long-lasting, trusted relationships with Impact partners and customers, acting as a principal point-of-contact.
- Onboard and orient new Impact partners and customers; support product provisioning with Global Customer Success team.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with Impact partners and customers throughout the relationship and project lifecycle, elevating and resolving important issues when needed.
- Assist Impact partners and customers to expand their usage and adoption of our products, particularly in the areas of nature conservation and sustainability, forest health, food security and resilient agriculture, and peace and human security.
- Work directly with internal stakeholder groups to make sure that Planet Impact projects are appropriately scoped and feasible, properly contracted, and set up for success, as well as unblock issues if and as they arise.
What You Bring:
- 4+ years of experience in project management or a related field
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of remote sensing, GIS and geospatial products.
- Ability to successfully communicate and coordinate with international partners and customers, and across internal teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, proactive work style, and ability to work independently.
- Experience and interest in sustainability and environmental stewardship, food security and regenerative agriculture, and/or peace and security
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English,
- Ability to travel
