
Engineering Manager [Auth]
As a “player-coach" you'll combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, enjoying considerable autonomy to shape the team's direction. You'll collaborate with current platform teams to absorb critical expertise while maintaining the freedom to implement your own vision for the team's evolution. Your work will directly impact multiple product lines, giving you visibility and influence across the organization.
- Lead the team through hiring, planning, task decomposition, process improvements, and team member development
- Manage relationships with business stakeholders to ensure timely feature delivery aligned with company objectives
- Drive technical leadership for authorization services, developing a strategic vision for platform growth
- Dive into existing processes and collaborate with current platform teams to successfully transition expertise and networking related to these services
- Solve complex implementation challenges, review code, and ensure delivery of robust, scalable solutions
- Balance immediate needs with long-term technical excellence
- Some experience leading an engineering team, including hiring, personal development, performance management, and delivery
- Strong technical background with 4+ years in software development
- Experience building robust, high-scale, distributed systems in production environments
- Proficiency in cross-team collaboration within product development environments
- Strategic thinking that supports scalable and sustainable service growth
- Comfort with any JVM-specific language (we’re using Kotlin), Kubernetes, and AWS environments (Golang experience a plus for future initiatives)
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to feedback, and apply learnings effectively
