About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and a hands-on approach to work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to grow in their career and make an impact within a dynamic, international organization.

This is a full-time role.

The place of work is located at our office in Leuven or Ieper. Hybrid model up to 3 times a week 

Essential Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prepare payments to vendors, ensuring segregation of duties for compliance.
• Handle bank statement reconciliations, including payments to vendors and employees.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Assist in month-end closing activities and support senior finance and accounting colleagues with various tasks as needed.

Experience

• Ideally, you bring initial experience in accounting.
• Fluent in English, Dutch and French.
• Independent and self-motivated worker with a “can-do” mentality.
• Strong integrity, high attention to detail, and a team-oriented approach.
• Knowledge of European GAAP or  familiarity with U.S. GAAP is a plus.
• Experience in an international setting or working as a subsidiary of a U.S. company is preferred.
• Complete Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related fields

Over de functie

Wij zijn op zoek naar een detailgerichte en proactieve Assistent Accountant om ons financiële team te versterken. De ideale kandidaat heeft ervaring in de boekhouding en toont een sterk verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel, integriteit en een hands-on mentaliteit. Dit is een uitstekende kans voor iemand die graag wil groeien in zijn carrière en een impact wil maken binnen een dynamische, internationale organisatie

Dit is een voltijdse functie. 

De werkplek is gevestigd in ons kantoor in Leuven of Ieper. Hybride model tot 3 keer per week.

Essentiële verantwoordelijkheden

Verwerken van leveranciersfacturen en onkostennota's van werknemers op een nauwkeurige wijze en met oog voor detail. Voorbereiden van betalingen aan leveranciers, waarbij de scheiding der taken voor compliance redenen wordt gewaarborgd. Afhandelen van bankafschriftenreconciliaties, inclusief betalingen aan leveranciers en werknemers. Afstemmen van grootboekrekeningen om de nauwkeurigheid van financiële gegevens te waarborgen. Assisteren bij maandafsluitingsactiviteiten en ondersteunen van senior finance en accounting collega's met diverse taken naar behoefte.

Ervaring

Idealiter heb je een initiële ervaring in de boekhouding. Vloeiend in Engels, Nederlands en Frans. Zelfstandige en gemotiveerde werker met een "can-do" mentaliteit. Sterke integriteit, hoge mate van nauwkeurigheid en een teamgerichte aanpak. Kennis van European GAAP of bekendheid met U.S. GAAP is een pluspunt. Ervaring in een internationale omgeving of werken als dochteronderneming van een Amerikaans bedrijf is een pro.Voltooide bacheloropleiding in boekhouding, financiën of aanverwante vakgebieden.
