About the Role

Platform Science is looking for a proactive SDET to ensure the highest product quality across our web and mobile applications. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of software development activities, from designing automated UI/API tests to executing exploratory manual testing. As this role supports a global organization, the ideal candidate will strike a balance between Indian and US time zones to collaborate with international clients and address production issues effectively.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Testing: Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including new product releases, functional enhancements, and defect resolution.

• Automation & Design: Design and implement automated UI and API tests for web applications; create and execute automation scripts for mobile using Appium, Selenium, or WebDriver.io.

• Exploratory & Manual Testing: Execute manual and exploratory tests on features and bug fixes, using techniques like equivalence class, boundary value, and decision table testing.

• Defect Management: Identify, track, and resolve software defects within Jira, ensuring all system malfunctions are addressed to meet strict quality standards.

• Global Collaboration: Proactively communicate status and risks to stakeholders and attend international client calls to support production deployments.

Experience

Required Experience

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Software QA Engineer (or a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering).

• Mobile Testing Expertise: Experience testing Native and Hybrid applications (iOS & Android) and managing backward compatibility across different OS versions.

• Coding Skills: Strong experience in Java coding; proficiency in general-purpose languages like JavaScript is also required.

• Agile Practices: Hands-on experience with BDD, continuous integration (CI), and automated testing frameworks.

• Technical Analysis: Ability to interpret complex technical documents, data models, and process diagrams.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Kotlin.

• Familiarity with the latest trends in mobile IoT testing.
