ABOUT THE ROLE
PLTFRM is looking for a VP of Business Development, Beauty & Personal Care to drive new business growth across our brand portfolio. This is a senior, individual-contributor, quota-carrying role for a proven business development leader who knows how to build relationships, create opportunities and close complex deals.
You’ll own the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through solution development, negotiation and close. Partnering with consumer brands to understand their growth goals and connect them with PLTFRM’s capabilities across sales, retail, e-commerce, media, analytics and beyond.
You’ll play a critical role in expanding PLTFRM’s brand-side business and building long-term partnerships with emerging and established consumer brands.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Drive new business growth by identifying, developing and closing opportunities with consumer brands.
- Own the full sales cycle across inbound and self-sourced opportunities, including prospecting, discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation and close.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of emerging, growth-stage and established brands aligned with PLTFRM’s growth priorities.
- Develop relationships with founders, CEOs and senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Growth and other key functions.
- Lead consultative sales conversations to understand each brand’s business, challenges and growth objectives and identify where PLTFRM can add the greatest value.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, proposals and solutions that bring together the right PLTFRM capabilities for each opportunity.
- Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and negotiate commercial agreements that create strong, sustainable partnerships.
- Leverage category expertise, industry relationships and market knowledge to identify opportunities and strengthen PLTFRM’s position with prospective clients.
- Partner closely with Growth, Marketing, Sales Operations and business leaders to develop new opportunities and ensure a seamless transition from prospect to client.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data in HubSpot, providing clear visibility into deal stage, timing, probability and next steps.
- Represent PLTFRM at industry trade shows, conferences, client meetings and networking events to build relationships and generate new business.
- Stay close to consumer, retailer and category trends to strengthen prospecting, positioning and sales conversations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 7+ years of business development, sales or related commercial experience, with a demonstrated track record of carrying and exceeding a closing quota.
- Proven success sourcing, developing and closing complex B2B opportunities as an individual contributor.
- Experience selling services, brokerage, agency, consulting or other strategic solutions to consumer brands strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the consumer-brand ecosystem and an understanding of how brands grow across retail and digital channels.
- Existing relationships and experience within relevant consumer categories are highly valued.
- A consultative sales approach with the ability to understand a brand’s business and connect its needs to broader growth solutions.
- Executive presence and the ability to build credibility with founders, CEOs and senior Sales, Marketing and Growth leaders.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial conversation through signed agreement.
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed and comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline, with experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations and proposal development.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, trade shows, conferences and company events as needed.
