About the Role

Plus Power is looking to hire a Project Development Senior Manager to be a functional lead of multiple projects within Plus Power’s portfolio. The Project Development Senior Manager will own the ultimate responsibility for de-risking a portfolio of projects in Brazil. The Project Development Manager will have a sophisticated team of subject matter experts who will provide support for specific discrete deliverables such as cost estimates, interconnection process navigation, procurement and operations, however the ultimate responsibility of this position is to lead a cross-functional team to bring a portfolio of projects to Notice to Proceed (NTP).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with local Brazilian partners to ensure workflow is efficient and expeditiously completed.
- Site Acquisition and Due Diligence: Partner with stakeholders to identify and secure project sites that maximize off-take potential, ensuring adherence to internal processes and completion of diligence requirements.
- Project Development: Manage a project pipeline and execute on complex milestone deliverables across a network of stakeholders.
- Project Management: Own complex site, permitting, and technology problem-solving efforts, leveraging internal expertise and external stakeholder engagement to keep projects on track.
- Project Finance: Understand the key financing elements of a project and work with the finance and commercial teams to ensure that all projects and deals continue to meet or exceed financial hurdles.
- Contract Origination: Partner with Markets and Origination teams to identify and quantify commercial opportunities and support RFP submissions.
- Commercial Negotiation: Support cross-functional stakeholders in negotiating power purchase agreements, permitting documents, interconnection agreements, and related commercial contracts to protect project economics and development objectives; support financing activities associated with new deals.
- Deal Execution: Provide support in closing and financing each new deal.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum BA/BS in economics, finance, business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in project development focused on transmission-connected generators in Brazil
- Preference is for this role to be based in Brazil
- Familiarity with the Brazilian power market, ONS and EPE rules and dynamics
- Experience supporting full lifecycle development of a transmission-connected generation asset in Brazil
- Experience participating in the development of or completing all of the following agreement types:
- Site lease or purchase agreements
- Site Plan and Building Permit approvals
- Interconnection agreements
- Power purchase or tolling agreements
- MIPA / PSA for project disposition / acquisition
- Creative independent thinker; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
- Adept at working collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Ability to think creatively, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to complex challenges
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality results
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel as needed to successfully advance and contract a portfolio of projects, including stakeholder meetings, site visits, and related activities.
Compensation, Location, and Benefits
Highly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators. Flexible, work from home or hybrid work from Plus Power’s offices in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, and Palm Beach.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
