What you’ll do 

As a member of the IT Service Management (ITSM) team, you will be responsible for creating the vision, strategy, roadmap and requirements for IT Asset and Configuration Management system (CMDB) products and capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of Device42 CMDB and Jira Service Management (JSM) ITSM, aligning with industry best practices and organizational requirements. You will define the processes, policies and establish governance to ensure the operational health and quality of the CMDB. You will drive the operational maturity of IT Asset Management and CMDB processes and optimize efficiency for our IT hardware and software assets. Specifically, you will: 

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of CMDB platform, ensuring delivery of all key integrations between Device 42, Jira Service Management and other related upstream and downstream systems 
  • Manage and document all requirements in BRDs along with functional architecture of the platform 
  • Ensure CMDB data is accurate; determine best practices for updating data through automation, integrations, and manual input 
  • Plan and Implement Asset Lifecycle Management workflows in JSM and Device42 
  • Create and maintain reports for managing and tracking data quality (ex: orphaned assets, data center asset reports, obsolescence reports etc.)  
  • Present the roadmap and user guide and for CMDB stakeholders to ensure appropriate understanding of the system, usage and its relationship to other key IT processes  
  • Complete the integration and track the adoption of the CMDB data within functional areas across security operations, and change, problem, and release management 
  • Evaluate industry innovations, maturity, trends, and changes regularly to plan and recommend improvements to the existing configuration database (Device42 CMDB) 
  • Establish procedures and compliance of naming conventions to identify object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases, and templates 

  

What’s required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or a minimum of 5 years of relevant recent experience 
  • Strong understanding of ITSM best practice processes, with configuration management and asset management industry experience 
  • Hands-on experience with industry standard enterprise change, configuration and asset management system tools (such as JSM, Device42, ServiceNow, BMC, etc.), including a solid understanding of CMDB platform architecture and database schemas. Must be able to code and develop reports, data extracts and other configuration changes on the platform 
  • Demonstrable understanding of the pressures and demands of working in a large and complex technical environment 
  • A “can do” attitude is a must 
  • Familiarity with configuration management concepts and best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and IT asset lifecycle management 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.  
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components, such as servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization technologies 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • ITIL Foundation certification or relevant ITSM certifications with specific focus on ITAM and ITOM practices 
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards

The annual base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $225,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
