2025 Point72 Academy Insight Program (For Local Japanese University students)
The Point72 Academy’s Insight Program is a work shadowing program designed to expose undergraduate students from all backgrounds to the possibility of a career in investing.
Point72 Academy Spring Insight Program – Tokyo
The Insight Program is an in-person, one-week work shadowing experience for students planning to graduate between December 2025 to September 2027 who are eager to learn about our business and company culture. Our goal is to increase students’ awareness and access to a career in investing. This can be your first step in building a career at Point72.
Over the course of five days in our Tokyo office, you will gain an understanding of financial markets and observe the day-to-day activities of our Academy professionals. You will experience a firsthand look at the work environment and responsibilities at Point72. Participants will also learn about the fundamentals of our business and get a glimpse into the life of a Point72 Academy Associate through observation and interaction with our team members. You will receive insights and feedback from our Academy management members, enhancing your understanding of the industry.
Our firm’s success depends on the unique and diverse viewpoints of our investment professionals. Our people are the firm’s most valuable asset. We are a group of talented problem-solvers who view challenges as opportunities. We invest in our talent and believe in the importance of fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment where all our employees have the resources and mentorship to grow.
During the Insight Program you will:
- Learn the Business: Gain an understanding of the role of a Point72 investment analyst by interacting with our professionals.
- Observe and Reflect: Watch Academy teaching sessions, reflect on your observations and discuss your insights with a Point72 Academy Coach.
- Explore your interests: Discover where your skills and passions fit best by immersing yourself in interactive learning sessions, and skills workshops.
- Expand Your Network: Work with fellow students interested in finance throughout the program and broaden your network.
Who we’re looking for:
- We welcome students from all academic disciplines. Your field of study or major is not a determining factor; we seek individuals who can effectively manage teamwork, exhibit integrity, possess intellectual curiosity, demonstrate leadership potential, and express a keen interest in the financial markets.
- Students should have a high enthusiasm for the financial services industry. Interest in analyzing companies and looking at stocks is recommended given the nature of this program.
- Candidates with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and high levels of self-motivation.
- Students who possess adaptability, cultural fluency, resilience, and life experiences that can contribute to the firm's diverse perspectives.
We want you to apply if you are:
- Enrolled in university or graduate school in Japan.
- Have a high proficiency in Japanese and English.
- Fascinated by research and problem-solving, relentlessly curious, and constantly expanding your horizons.
- Committed to continued success in your academic and professional career with the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, ethics, and excellence.

- Available to participate in-person in our Tokyo offices for five days from September 1 to 5, 2025.
- Point72 will cover reasonable travel for students at universities located outside of Tokyo to and from your university location.
Timing:
- Submit your application by June 15, 2025.
- Following a brief assessment period, we will notify selected participants by July 24, 2025.
