About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QA Automation Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our Antivirus Software Development Kit (SDK). In this role, you'll develop and maintain automated test scripts, monitor critical system metrics during testing, and work closely with our development team to identify, track, and resolve issues.
You'll leverage your expertise in automation and scripting to execute comprehensive testing strategies, including functional, regression, and performance tests, ensuring compatibility across Windows (and optionally macOS) platforms.
Day to Day:
- Automation Test Development: Develop and maintain robust automated test scripts for our Antivirus SDK using PowerShell, Python, and Selenium.
- System Metrics Monitoring: Programmatically monitor and analyze critical system metrics (CPU, RAM, disk usage) during automated testing to identify performance bottlenecks and ensure optimal software behavior.
- Test Management & Documentation: Manage test cases effectively using TestRail, documenting test procedures clearly and comprehensively. Provide detailed reports on test results, clearly outlining identified issues and their impacts.
- Bug Tracking & Resolution: Collaborate closely with developers to report, track, and resolve software defects, ensuring rapid feedback loops and efficient resolution of issues.
- Comprehensive Testing: Execute functional, regression, and performance testing to validate software functionality and performance benchmarks. Ensure compatibility across various versions of Windows (and optionally macOS).
What you bring to the table:
- Proven professional experience in QA automation.
- Strong proficiency in scripting with PowerShell / Bash and Python.
- Expertise in Selenium for UI automation testing.
- Proficiency in managing test cases using TestRail.
- Ability to programmatically monitor system resources and performance metrics.
- Solid understanding of Windows internals (knowledge of macOS internals is a plus).
- Previous experience testing security software, particularly antivirus or endpoint protection solutions.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with bash scripting.
- Experience testing security software, particularly antivirus or endpoint protection solutions.
- Knowledge or hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.
- Experience conducting tests on macOS environments.
