Senior Mobile Developer
At Poka, we’re transforming how frontline teams operate, learn, and solve problems.
Our connected worker platform is purpose-built for manufacturing, empowering frontline workers to share knowledge, collaborate in real-time, and drive continuous improvement. Think of it as the missing digital link, bringing the human interface into the stack of the Smart Factory, generating the right data and insights that drive entirely new scales of process improvements.
We’re proud to support global leaders like Nestlé, Bosch, Mars, and Danone in their digital transformation journeys and as part of the IFS family, our reach and impact continue to grow globally.
Our iOS application is at the heart of Poka’s mission. Deployed globally, it supports frontline workers every day in manufacturing and food production environments, helping them learn, collaborate, and solve problems in real time.
We are looking for a Mobile Developer to join our squad. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our established and robust iOS ecosystem. While you will spend significant time working within our native Swift environment, you will also help us explore and implement modern cross-platform efficiencies. We are beginning to strategically integrate React Native for specific new features, and you will play a vital role in determining how these two worlds best interact.
Why this role?
- A core product with global impact: You will work on Poka’s flagship mobile application, used daily in manufacturing environments around the world.
- Meaningful technical influence: You will actively contribute to architectural decisions and long-term mobile direction. Your perspective will help shape key technical choices.
- An exciting technology transformation context: You will participate in the evolution of our mobile strategy,
- An environment that values expertise: We value autonomy, collaboration, and the ability to step back and think critically. Here, senior experience truly makes a difference.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be the point person for mobile within your squad, maintaining and expanding a high-scale native application used by major global manufacturers.
- We aren't doing a "rewrite." You will help us identify high-impact opportunities to use React Native for new UI/UX components while keeping the core of the app natively performant.
- You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team (FE, BE, QA, Design) that operates with a startup mentality. You have the freedom to influence your squad’s technical roadmap and daily processes.
- We are actively leveraging AI tools (like Claude) to accelerate our development. You’ll help us bridge the gap between native Swift patterns and more AI-friendly web-standard architectures.
What we’re looking for
Required
- 4+ years of experience in native iOS development using Swift
- Strong knowledge of Apple technologies (Swift, UIKit and/or SwiftUI)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both French and English
- Experience building client-server applications
Strong assets
- Experience with React Native
- Participation in a native-to-cross-platform migration (optional)
Who you are:
- You can analyze technical trade-offs and clearly articulate your recommendations.
- You are comfortable constructively challenging existing approaches.
- You prioritize simplicity, maintainability, and code clarity.
- Your technical decisions are guided by product value and user experience.
What we offer:
- Dynamic and collaborative work environment.
- A generous vacation policy starting on your first day.
- Hybrid work policy - Employees who live within a 40 km radius of our Québec City office or a 15 km radius of our Montréal office are required to work in-office two days per week.
- 100% remote work if you do not live within the radiuses mentioned above.
- A truly flexible schedule that allows you to adapt your work hours.
- Group insurance from day one (dental, medication, disability, travel, etc.) with employer contributions, including access to telemedicine and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- A retirement savings plan with employer contributions.
- A MacBook Pro and a $500 home office allowance upon hiring.
- Tasty snacks available at all times in our offices (fresh fruits, snacks, pastries, coffee, tea, etc.)
- Generous referral bonus.
- The tools, support, and opportunities you need to keep learning and progressing in your career.
