- Job Title: Legal Specialist, Product Safety and Compliance
- Job Summary: The responsibilities of the Legal Specialist, Product Safety and Compliance is to provide administrative and clerical assistance and guidance for the product safety labeling and compliance programs for Pokémon products worldwide. You will closely work with various internal stakeholders including the legal team and the production team and coordinate with outside counsel and business partners for regulatory compliance, including sustainability regulations. This role serves as the product safety communication and coordination liaison between internal teams and external partners and works closely with the Production department to ensure consistency with and adherence to all applicable safety laws worldwide. This position ensures that internal documentation, standards, and processes are robust, thorough, and well documented.

What you’ll do
- Maintaining international and domestic product safety strategies and effective product labeling compliance for Pokémon products.
- Documenting global regulatory requirements and provide guidance on implementation.
- Developing and maintaining Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs and Social Compliance Audit programs with internal and external business partners including TPCi factories, distribution partners, auditing agencies, and audit program organizations.
- Developing and maintaining professional relationship with internal and external business partners including testing labs, outside counsels, and regulatory compliance agencies.
- Documenting daily tasks including safety analysis, design, and labeling control for Pokémon product designs.
- Coordinate with operations departments regarding production design and development of physical products to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Inform and educate managers and department heads on regulations and polices that require compliance.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulations applicable to the company.
- Monitor regulatory affairs and the effect changes will have on company operations. Preparing regulatory guidance and other required documents for Pokémon products.
What you’ll bring
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
- One (1) to three (3) years of related experience in consumer product labeling or equivalent experience.
- One (1) to three (3) years of project management experience.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Understanding of Sustainability regulations, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) or product stewardship programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent strategic planning skills.
- Proficient with applicable database and compliance software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $105,000.00 - $124,000.00 per year. The full range is $105,000.00 - $157,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
