- Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant
- Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to own our cost accounting operations and drive strategic margin analysis. This critical role partners closely with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to strengthen inventory controls, enhance costing processes, and provide actionable financial insights to leadership. We’re looking for an energetic, self-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and excels at critical thinking. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, along with deep expertise in product costing and financial analysis.

What you’ll do
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Lead a complex portfolio of work including detailed margin analysis for Pokémon Trading Card Game and Merchandise to inform pricing strategies, profitability reviews, and executive decision-making.
- Analyze product costs, inventory, and supply chain performance in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Provide cost and inventory analysis, including trends, aging, and other key operational metrics.
- Complete ad hoc inventory valuation analyses to support financial planning and decision-making.
Inventory Management & Cost Control
- Oversee evaluation of obsolete and excess inventory; manage reserve calculations and releases.
- Maintain and advise on cost allocations for inventory and product costing.
- Assist with cycle count tracking, reporting, and support inventory-related audit activities.
Systems, Process Improvements & Compliance
- Drive cross-departmental projects and process improvements to ensure accurate cost recognition and accounting for physical goods.
- Identify and implement automation and process enhancements to improve the efficiency of financial reporting and analysis.
- Partner with IT to maintain accurate, up-to-date cost accounting systems and robust reporting capabilities for ad hoc analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and external audit requirements related to inventory and cost of goods sold.
- Support internal reviews, external audits, and perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring
- Eight (8) plus years of cost accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or production.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Strong hands-on experience preparing margin analysis and presenting findings to leadership.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and operational flows.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with major ERPs (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite preferred).
- Complex understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $114,000.00 - $136,000.00. The full range is $114,000.00 - $171,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
