Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack
Why join Polycam?
Polycam's mission is straightforward: To make professional 3D capture effortless and accessible, empowering anyone to transform the physical world into digital workflows.
We’re building the future of imaging at a moment when 3D is becoming as fundamental as photography once did. Our focus is on delivering best-in-class 3D capture tools that are seamless, affordable, and collaborative—technology that removes friction and unlocks creativity rather than getting in the way.
We believe that when people are given exceptional tools, they build extraordinary things. That belief drives everything we do, from the products we ship to the way we work together as a team. If you’re excited by innovation, care deeply about craft, and want your work to shape how the world captures and understands reality, you’ll feel right at home at Polycam.
The Role:
Polycam is hiring a senior fullstack software engineer. You will be working on Polycam’s essential apps and databases that support 3D content management, identity management, billing and more. As a member of the team you will have the chance to collaborate on the product roadmap and work across teams to drive business-critical technical decisions. While we are looking for an engineer that can work across the stack, the ideal candidate has experience working on the frontend of collaborative SaaS software.
As a senior software engineer you will be expected to lead and execute on major product initiatives, establish and refine processes to increase the team’s productivity and level of quality, write and review technical design docs, review PRs, and work with product and business teams to deliver great results to our users. You will also define and refine agentic development workflows that shorten the product–engineering loop - including enabling designers to prototype directly in production-quality builds and shifting QA automation earlier in the development cycle to reduce triage and debugging overhead downstream. We are a fast-paced startup valuing the ability to work quickly and iteratively.
Salary Range: The salary range for this role is $175k - $200k. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary, therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust web and mobile applications using React and React Native, with the ability to work in native Swift and Kotlin code as needed
- Build and maintain back-end services for data storage, user authentication, and cloud processing using Firebase, GCP, and other tools and platforms.
- Lead architecture discussions to make informed decisions on engineering challenges, frameworks, and design patterns to best meet project needs
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Improve application performance and scalability through efficient database design, caching strategies, and code optimizations
- Track down quality issues and gain understanding through tools such as BigQuery SQL, analytics, cloud observability tooling, profiling and more.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years of experience with backend services, such as Firestore, Supabase, Neon or similar Google Firebase
- 4+ years of experience developing front-end code with React and TypeScript
- 2+ years of mobile development experience with React Native
- 2+ years of experience working on a SaaS software product
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Desire to align business and product goals while keeping a healthy balance of velocity and engineering excellence.
- Passion for building creative tools at the intersection of computer graphics and AI
