Overview of ClearEngine here

Associate – Strategy & Operations:

ClearEngine is seeking an outstanding associate to support project management and lead detailed analysis on client engagements. This role owns the day-to-day operating cadence of client engagements and ensures work is brought to senior leaders at a high level of completeness. You will work closely with ClearEngine’s Principals and team members to execute complex analyses, manage projects, and develop high-quality client deliverables.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of experience in consulting, finance, or a fast-paced start-up or corporate environment. You should be an analytical thinker, proactive, and able to manage tasks independently. This role provides a unique opportunity for growth in an entrepreneurial setting, offering hands-on exposure to diverse, high-growth businesses and strategic projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day delivery of client engagements, including setting and managing project plans, tracking decisions and dependencies, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met, and proactively surfacing risks or blockers.
  • Lead structured analysis and modeling to translate complex data into clear insights, trade-offs, and recommendations that inform client decisions around growth, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Drive the development of client-facing deliverables, bringing analyses, narratives, and recommendations to a high level of completeness before senior review and presentation.
  • Synthesize inputs across workstreams into concise, decision-oriented presentations and reports for founders, executives, and investors.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple client workstreams simultaneously, balancing urgency and impact to maintain momentum across engagements.
  • Partner directly with client teams to drive execution of agreed initiatives, tracking outcomes and ensuring follow-through against defined objectives.
  • Help codify repeatable processes, templates, and best practices to improve ClearEngine’s delivery quality and scalability across clients.
  • Own execution of internal initiatives and business development workstreams, ensuring high-quality outputs and minimal senior overhead.

Requirements:

  • Extreme drive, strong ownership mindset, and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage up and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, able to take loosely defined problems and drive them to clear, actionable outcomes.
  • 2–4 years of experience in consulting, strategy, finance, operations, or a high-growth startup environment; consumer-facing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure complex information into clear analyses, models, and decision-oriented narratives.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial and data analysis, with the ability to translate insights into recommendations.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously, maintaining momentum across projects.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare client-ready presentations.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and engage in hands-on execution, especially in early-stage or fast-moving environments.
  • Collaborative team player who contributes to shared outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with common analytics, financial, or project management tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools, PM tools) is a plus, but learning speed matters more than specific platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
