Performance Creative Strategist, New Ventures

United States

About us

Pomelo Care is the leading virtual medical practice for women and children, providing care across pregnancy, postpartum, pediatrics, menopause, and perimenopause. We combine proactive, 24/7 clinical care with technology that helps us reach patients earlier, identify risks sooner, and deliver personalized care throughout their journey. Our team includes clinicians, technologists, operators, and problem-solvers working together to make high-quality care more accessible for families nationwide.

About The Role:

Your north star: Build a high-velocity, data-backed creative engine that drives prospective patients to start their care journey with Pomelo.

As our Performance Creative Strategist, you will own the full creative lifecycle from deep patient insight and trend research to concepting, content creation, and post-campaign performance analyses. This is a high-ownership, strategy-and-ops-driven role: you will be the mastermind architecting our creative pipeline, diversifying our creative formats, and scaling winning concepts across paid channels.

This role reports to the Head of Growth, New Ventures and is open to any candidates located in the continental US.

What you'll do:

  • Deeply understand our patients: Mine qualitative and quantitative data (reviews, surveys, community forums) to develop a deep understanding of who our patients are and what they care about. Translate key insights into high-converting messaging and creative angles.
  • Fuel new concept generation: Spot emerging creative formats, viral hooks, and ad trends across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and CTV. Continuously generate fresh, net-new concepts rather than just minor iterations.
  • Own creative operations: Build and manage a streamlined project management system for creative assets. Proactively drive production timelines, manage external creative partners and agencies (holding them to high standards), and eliminate bottlenecks to ensure a smooth, end-to-end creative workflow.
  • Accelerate output & testing Cycles: Build a rapid-fire production flywheel that moves assets from concept to live testing fast.
  • Analyze performance & iterate: Work closely with the Growth team to review paid channel performance weekly. Turn performance data into actionable retros, double down on winning frameworks, and rapidly sunset underperforming assets.

Who you are:

  • Experienced strategist: 3–5 years of experience in performance creative strategy, growth marketing, or creative strategy at a DTC brand, healthtech company, or high-growth agency.
  • Master project manager: Highly organized and proactive with a track record of building efficient creative production workflows and managing external partners/agencies without hand-holding.
  • Data & insight driven: Excellent understanding of performance metrics (Hook Rate, Hold Rate, CTR, CAC, LTV) and an ability to translate deep understanding of our patients to compelling ad messaging.
  • Trend & benchmarking expert: Always tracking what is working across paid social, saving examples, pattern-matching successful ad structures, and adapting them to our brand.
  • Action biased: Focused on speed to market and shipping volume at high quality. (Note: You do not need to be on camera, but you should know how to brief, direct, and assemble a winning video asset).
  • Cross-functional communicator: Skilled at bridging the gap between brand identity, clinical nuance, and direct-response performance needs.

Bonus points if you have any of the following:

  • Experience in healthcare, women's health, or high-trust/regulated DTC products
  • Light hands-on video editing or static design skills (e.g., CapCut, Premiere, Figma, Canva) for rapid prototyping and mockups
  • Experience managing external creator/influencer networks or agency workflows at scale
