DESCRIPTION

Pontera is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Specialist to join the Global IT team and lead IT operations for the New York office.

As part of Pontera’s Global IT organization, this position works closely with Infrastructure, Security, R&D, and Operations teams to support secure, stable, and scalable IT operations across the company.

Serving as the primary IT owner for the NY office, the role is responsible for employee support, office infrastructure, endpoint management, SaaS administration, identity operations, and operational continuity in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Responsibilities include hands-on operational support, infrastructure administration, endpoint and security operations, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate is a highly independent IT professional capable of managing operational responsibilities while collaborating within a global IT organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Onsite IT Operations & Employee Support

  • Serve as the primary onsite IT owner for the NY office supporting approximately 100+ employees.
  • Lead onsite operational response and coordinate escalations during infrastructure, endpoint, or office technology incidents.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for hardware, software, SaaS applications, conferencing systems, and office technology.
  • Deliver executive and business-critical support in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes including device preparation, account provisioning, permissions management, and asset handling.
  • Support office events and business activities requiring onsite IT support.
  • Ensure timely resolution of operational and technical issues impacting employee workflows.

Infrastructure Administration & Office Technology

  • Manage and support office infrastructure including enterprise networking, firewalls, wireless networks, VPN connectivity, CCTV systems, physical access control, conferencing technologies, and office AV systems, using platforms such as Fortinet, UniFi, Cato, and Zoom.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and local vendors for troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational continuity.
  • Perform onsite troubleshooting for network, hardware, and office infrastructure issues.
  • Support and administer cloud infrastructure services including Amazon WorkSpaces environments, cloud-hosted operational platforms, and related access/connectivity workflows.
  • Support office expansions, relocations, cabling, and infrastructure deployment projects.

Datacenter & Technical Operations Support

  • Support operational activities related to datacenter infrastructure and internal technical environments.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure and R&D teams on maintenance, deployments, operational readiness, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with infrastructure implementations, hardware lifecycle activities, and onsite operational support when required.

Endpoint Management & Identity Operations

  • Manage MacOS and Windows endpoint lifecycle operations through MDM platforms including Kandji \Iru and Microsoft Intune, covering enrollment, compliance, patching, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer identity and access management processes across SaaS platforms and internal systems using Okta and related identity platforms.
  • Provision and deprovision users, groups, permissions, and application access based on operational and security requirements
  • Collaborate with Security teams on endpoint compliance, remediation, and enforcement initiatives.

SaaS Administration & Business Systems Support

  • Support centralized SaaS operations and lifecycle management through platforms such as Torii, including onboarding, licensing, troubleshooting, access governance, and operational administration.
  • Administer and support core business and collaboration platforms including Google Workspace, Zoom, and related SaaS environments.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to support operational processes, business systems usage, and productivity workflows.
  • Assist with SaaS integrations, automation initiatives, and operational improvements using platforms such as Workato and BlinkOps.

Project Execution & Operational Initiatives

  • Lead and execute onsite IT infrastructure and operational projects from planning through implementation and operational handoff.
  • Participate in infrastructure, security, office expansion, and automation initiatives.
  • Support cross-functional technical projects with global IT team, Security, R&D and Facilities teams.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational scalability initiatives.

Documentation & Operational Ownership

  • Maintain clear technical documentation for infrastructure, operational procedures, and support processes.
  • Track operational tasks, incidents, and projects through Jira\ monday.com or equivalent platforms.
  • Maintain operational ownership, prioritization, and accountability for onsite IT operations and service delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure administration, or onsite corporate IT environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting both Mac and Windows environments.
  • Proven experience managing MDM platforms including Kandji and Microsoft Intune.
  • Strong experience supporting office infrastructure including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPN connectivity, and office AV systems.
  • Experience supporting SaaS administration, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and access management.
  • Experience working with Security, R&D and Infrastructure teams on operational and compliance initiatives.
  • Ability to independently prioritize, manage, and execute operational responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational ownership capabilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting fintech or high-growth technology environments.
  • Experience with Fortinet, UniFi, Cato, Google Workspace, Okta, and Azure Entra ID.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or operational workflow orchestration platforms such as Workato or BlinkOps.
  • Experience supporting datacenter or infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS environments and Amazon WorkSpaces administration.
  • Relevant certifications are an advantage.
