The Opportunity 

The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the global month-end close, preparation of monthly management accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and compliance reports. The role requires proactive management of balance sheet account reconciliations, maintenance of fixed asset registers, and adherence to tax and regulatory obligations. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic, team-based environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Participate in the global month-end close process and prepare monthly management accounts. 
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. 
  • Maintain the fixed assets register, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date. 
  • Calculate and process intercompany charges and reconcile intercompany balances. 
  • Assist in the annual audit process, including preparing financial statements in line with FRS requirements. 
  • Manage the company’s tax and regulatory compliance, including Corporation Tax, VAT, CRO, and CSO reporting. 
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting system and records. 
  • Provide cover for other finance team members as needed and collaborate effectively within the team. 

Candidate Expertise Required 

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, with expertise in FRS. 
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Netsuite is advantageous. 
  • Ability to perform high-quality, detailed work under tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 
  • Proven ability to work independently, showing initiative in a fast-paced and evolving business environment. 
  • ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified accountant with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). 
  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounting role with demonstrated knowledge of global accounting practices and regulations. 
  • Experience working in a team environment, with a proven ability to build strong relationships across departments.
