The Role
The Account Supervisor, based out of our Boston, MA office, will work on fast-paced, earned media and influencer centric workstreams for well-known consumer brands and non-profits. Responsibilities:
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact and program lead across consumer brand and non-profit accounts
- Manage junior staff support and partner closely with senior account leadership on strategy development for earned media programs, brand activations and events, influencer engagement and executive visibility programs
- Lead earned media programs, organizing teams to complete media list development, creative pitch ideation, outreach, interview staffing and relationship building
- Assess media trends and identify/evaluate opportunities that amplify client priorities. Demonstrate a knowledge of the evolving media landscape, top-tier outlets, and key players.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with media and other influencers nationally and in New England markets
- Develop and edit written materials including press releases, fact sheets, media briefing materials, speaking submissions, award entries, pitches, bylines and general client correspondence
- Stay ahead of the curve by staying obsessively tuned into culture and brand news. Your ability to analyze trends and distill key takeaways informs our strategies and keeps our clients competitive.
- Plan and execute client events and activations, often staffing on-site and liaising with media and influencers, photographers and other vendors as required.
- Lead by example, managing and mentoring junior team members to deliver high-quality work that exceeds client expectations. Your guidance fosters growth and ensures consistency in our deliverables.
- Anticipate client and account leadership needs and demands, always staying one step ahead to address challenges before they arise. Your proactive approach builds trust and strengthens client and internal relationships.
- Operate with a keen eye for detail. You excel in maintaining organizational efficiencies that keep projects on track and deliverables on time. Your meticulous approach ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years+ of PR/communications experience; PR agency experience and experience working with consumer brands will be advantageous
- Project management and program leadership prowess, comfortable overseeing junior colleagues and managing up with senior leadership
- Previous experience as a client or executive point of contact; strong relationship building skills – both with internal (executives, peers, junior staff) and external (clients, media, influencers, vendors) stakeholders
- Event and/or activation experience or interest; comfortable rolling up your sleeves and contributing on-site while engaging with clients, media, influencers and consumers alike
- Proven earned media track record and a growing book of media relations contacts, including examples of how you have achieved cut-through in media
- Proactivity, curiosity and creativity (ask the questions and bring unconventional ideas to the table)
- Comfortable with ambiguity (fast-moving clients in a fast-moving market requires quick thinking and resourcefulness)
- Ability to switch gears quickly (keep work streams full of unforgettable story lines), with multiple projects going at one time
- Balanced, organized and accountable workstyle allowing for equal success whether stepping up and driving work independently or collaborating within the team
- Impeccable attention to detail
The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
