Media.

The Associate Director, Digital & Influencer is a hands-on, mid-senior leader within the UK Innovation Engine Digital function who manages the seamless integration and execution of Digital and Influencer campaigns. This role translates strategy into activation—driving performance across platforms while ensuring compliance, creativity, and optimization.

This is a practitioner role. This role bridges paid, earned, social and owned (PESO)—sitting at the intersection of culture, content, and technology. This role is dedicated to hands-on execution, ensuring the IE delivers Digital and Influencer innovation and competitive advantage for our clients.

Core Purpose
To manage and execute Digital and Influencer campaigns that are culturally relevant, performance-driven, and insight-powered—delivering real value to clients.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Vision
•    Translate platform, audience, and content strategies into activation roadmaps.
•    Align influencer and digital work to foresight and Intelligence outputs.
•    Recommend innovative formats, partnerships, and digital mechanics.

Leadership
•    Lead cross-functional influencer + digital activations.
•    Manage internal teams and external vendor relationships.
•    Represent Digital & Influence in campaign planning.

Client Impact & Business Development
•    Serve as day-to-day Digital, Influencer and Paid Media contact for clients.
•    Present Digital, Influencer and Paid Media campaign plans and optimizations.
•    Support digital/influencer components of proposals and new business.
•    Support pitches and proposals with Digital and Influencer products.

Commercial & Operations
•    Own campaign timelines, scoping, reporting, and quality control.
•    Manage influencer contracts, disclosures, and compliance.
•    Liaise with Paid and Intelligence to optimize campaigns.
•    Leverage AI in the work (hands-on use of AI) to automate and elevate deliverables.

Team Development & Culture
•    Mentor junior digital and influencer talent, and model using AI.
•    Share emerging platform and Creator trends with the team.
•    Foster a culture of learning, agility, and measurement.
•    Embody a culture of curiosity, innovation, courage and entrepreneurial energy.
•    Practice inclusivity, embedding equitable practices into all processes.

Deliverables
•    Digital and influencer campaign plans and trackers.
•    Weekly Digital and/or Influencer performance dashboards and optimizations.
•    Social-first creative recommendations.
•    Platform POVs and innovation briefs.

Targets & KPIs
•    Campaign delivery against timeline and KPIs.
•    Influencer and platform ROI and compliance.
•    Digital billability target: 75–80%.
•    AI utilization.
•    New digital/influencer innovation incorporated into campaigns.
•    Culture Impact: Positive innovation and engagement results in staff surveys.
•    Invention and/or innovation of proprietary Digital and Influencer products and services.
•    Use of innovation tools and Digital and Influencer platform experimentation.

Skills & Expertise
•    7–10 years in digital marketing, influencer engagement, or social content.
•    Fluent in platform formats, metrics, and audience behavior.
•    Experience in working closely with Account teams or within Account teams with an Influencer focus.
•    Strong use of AI to automate and elevate the work.
•    Experienced in Health category influencer and Digital compliance (Desirable).
•    Strong project and relationship management skills.
•    Passion for emerging platforms and performance innovation.
•    Visibility: Excellent presentation and communication.
•    Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and coaching others.
•    Entrepreneurial Mindset: Agile, resourceful, and commercially driven.
