Project Manager, VP - Healthcare

The Role
This Project Manager will provide critical support for Porter Novelli’s Health practice – helping the team develop and manage against scopes of work to ensure that projects come in on time and within budget, manage resources and request new hires, ensure compliance, and manage risk.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a communications agency pro who loves spreadsheets more than the average PR person, be comfortable voicing opinions while driving teams toward compromises, be exceptionally detail oriented, and have past experience working with pharmaceutical industry and other health clients/projects. This person will need to have a knack for keeping projects on time, on budget and to the scope + has a great sense to operationalize client accounts. Scopes can vary from medium to high complexity.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinate with creative, strategy, account management and full channel integrated teams to drive the internal deliverables forward for medium to large programs.
- Serves as the day-to-day Project Manager by tracking deliverables across healthcare program by coordinating various functions including creative, strategy, insights, paid media, and analytics.
- Responsible for reviewing and coordinating with external & internal vendors on contracts and liaising with legal team on key reviews and deliverables, ensuring all updates are communicated to the account leadership team.
- Delivering a well thought out workback plan and process for healthcare projects alongside the account team partners by focusing on balancing quality, cost, and schedule, while exceeding client deliverable expectations.
- Setting project and process expectations proactively or when issues arise with creative problem solving without compromising quality, team morale, or budget.
- Ensuring that deliverables are met on time, on budget.
- Partners with internal finance team, the client finance and/or client procurement teams on overall financial management of the client (SOW development; monitoring and tracking deliverables and budgets; budget/staffing forecasting; change management and reporting).
- Creates and communicates project inputs by the cross-functional team, client and various healthcare partners – inclusive of time, scope of deliverables, hours and project requirements/process.
- Set expectations at the beginning of a project and/or financial process. As any issues arise, proactively find solutions without compromising quality, team morale, or budget.
- Define and support cross-functional teams on roles and responsibilities (RACI and/or RAPID) processes, and templates.
- Eager to drive the internal teams forward and a collaborative partner.
- Be a proactive, solution-oriented, and strategic partner.
- Has managed a team of 1-2 direct reports in the PMO function.
- Can independently put Standard Operating Procedures together and communicate them out with account leadership.
- Works with Project Management tools to develop and improve processes
The Experience That Will Contribute To Your Success
- 10+ years of Project Management experience, preferably a communications agency.
- Expert skills in scoping, pricing, and timeline development for complex, agile programs. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively with established deadlines and pressure.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred or highly-regulated environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to build cooperative, effective relationships, facilitate communication and understanding among professionals across multiple levels. The ability to build consensus, anticipate problems and difficult situations, and develop workable strategies and solutions.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrates accountability, curiosity and collaboration.
- Proficient in collaboration tools such as Microsoft Products, Smartsheets and HIVE.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
