Summary

The Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits will serve as a senior-level expert overseeing the payroll and benefits functions within PosiGen’s HR department. This role will manage payroll processing across multiple states, including Louisiana, Mississippi, Connecticut, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Massachusetts, and other expanding markets. As both a working manager and a supervisor, the Senior Manager will lead and support a team of payroll and benefits staff, ensuring efficient processing of payroll, delivering benefits education, assisting with benefits enrollment, handling invoicing and audits, and driving other key payroll and benefits initiatives.

This will be a hybrid role based out of Houston, TX or New Orleans, LA.

Essential Job Functions

  • Guide the payroll department in processing timely and accurate payroll for multi-state and multiple legal entities within the PosiGen group of companies
  • Help enroll and administer benefits education to new hires and current employees as needed 
  • Manage and prepare for yearly open enrollment of employee benefits including conducting virtual and/or onsite benefit presentations 
  • Act as the primary point of contact with our Employee Benefit Broker and ensure that our employees are getting the most out of the benefits available to them
  • Oversee all payroll and benefit invoice auditing (401k, ERISA, monthly invoicing)
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll and benefits data within the HRIS system with periodic reviews of classifications and coding to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Oversee all current payroll/benefits initiatives
  • Manage and assist with leave requests as needed
  • Coordinate and ensure timely processing of all 5500s through designated providers
  • Ensuring all aspects of payroll and timekeeping are handled properly and in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations/laws, etc.
  • Works to create efficiencies and consistency with all aspects of payroll and benefits
  • Supervise payroll and benefits staff and act as the primary point of contact for all benefit and payroll-related vendor & carrier relationships
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing
  • Creates standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all process areas relating to Payroll & Benefits
  • Analyzes and escalates payroll and benefit concerns to VP HR Operations
  • Manages all payroll/benefits projects and tasks as designated by the VP HR
  • Provides employee and manager training on the payroll and timekeeping system as needed
  • Assists in the buildout and maintenance of the workflow administration setup in the HRIS for items related to payroll & benefit processing
  • Audits and assists in all HRIS-related reporting and analytics
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development preferred, or equivalent professional experience in a related business environment.
  • Proficient in ADP Payroll Processing Software; demonstrated success in implementing and migrating payroll systems in previous roles.
  • Skilled in utilizing Google Workspace for daily operational tasks.
  • 5-10 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration, with proven leadership in managing payroll/benefits teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of labor, tax, and employment laws, including FLSA, ACA, ADA, COBRA, USERRA, and HIPAA compliance for employee benefits.
  • Extensive experience processing payrolls across multiple states and legal entities.
  • Strong ability to generate HR metrics and analyze data to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

  • Primary responsibilities involve regular speaking, listening, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, and reaching with arms.
  • Occasionally, the role may require sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.

Base Salary

$120,000 - $140,000 USD
