We are looking for a reliable and skilled Solar Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar systems, ensuring that all work is completed according to specifications, codes, and safety standards. You will also manage inventory, maintain organized and safe work sites, and follow state and company guidelines to ensure high-quality installations. Your efforts will contribute to the advancement of renewable energy solutions while adhering to regulatory and safety requirements. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in various environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.
Essential Job Functions
- Assemble solar panels and support structures according to specifications.
- Install solar systems per relevant codes and standards, following schematics and instructions.
- Measure, cut, and secure structural framing and solar modules.
- Access residential rooftops and work at high elevations to install and maintain solar systems.
- Mount racking and electrical equipment with structural integrity.
- Maintain an organized inventory of installation equipment.
- Keep work sites clean, organized, and safe throughout the project.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements, completing necessary training.
- Participate in meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions as required.
- Follow state guidelines for workmanship to ensure quality and compliance.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 1–3 years of roofing experience (required).
- Previous residential solar installation experience (preferred).
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics).
- Ability to work under mobile homes as needed.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Able to obtain DOT Medical Certification.
- Ability to obtain any licenses or certifications required by state guidelines.
- Must be flexible based on customer availability.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a minimum of three years of driving history, a clean driving record, and access to reliable transportation.
- Willing to complete the pre-employment screening process.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work in a variety of extreme environmental conditions (e.g., high heat, cold temperatures).
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, ascend/descend stairs, and work on rooftops of multi-level buildings, as well as within confined spaces such as attics.
- While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly be required to speak and hear. The role frequently requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50-70 pounds.
- The employee will occasionally need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.
