About the Team

The team is responsible for building and maintaining Postman’s performance testing product. Performance testing tool was released early this year and has gathered larger adoption among developers and continues to grow every week. The team is focused on identifying further use cases for our users and quickly iterating on the product to deliver the highest impact to our users and the business. 

The alpha is rolled out to few thousands of users and the initial feedback is positive.

We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader to massively scale this product, make this available to the existing 4+ million of developer network of postman (and beyond) and work towards the monetisation of the same.

What You’ll Do 

  • Scale & develop a team of diverse engineers to build the best-in-class Performance Testing tool

  • Design and implement a highly scalable and reliable system that can cater to the needs of the millions of developers performing perf testing on their APIs.

  • Optimize the user experience and performance of the Product by identifying the right initiatives to invest in to scale the product.

  • Raise the bar for engineering standards, tooling and processes

  • Partner with peers in Product, Design & Engineering to craft the best building blocks, guidelines, & standards, & evolve the team’s vision, mission, & strategy.

  • Participate in the end-to-end recruiting process, hiring & onboarding exceptional engineering talent.

  • Define, measure & own key metrics for the performance of your and your team’s functional areas.

  • Motivate & communicate across multiple levels. Bring out the best in the individuals on your team by enabling them to do the best work of their lives.

  • Help engineers develop new skills & advance in their careers

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related field or equivalent practical experience

  • Min. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java, JavaScript, NodeJS).

  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role building exceptional products that deliver a delightful experience for end customers.

  • 2 years of experience in people management, team leadership role.

  • Experience building Microservice architectures.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience building user interfaces with modern web technologies

  • Experience working on standardizing and solving common problems in engineering in a growing company
