The Opportunity
Are you an experienced marketer, analyst and technologist all wrapped-up into one? Postman is looking for its next Senior Marketing Data Manager.
As a Senior Marketing Data Manager at Postman, you will be the operational owner of our Customer Data Platform (Segment.io). This role is central to orchestrating the flow of customer and behavioral data across our stack, enabling our data analysts, marketing teams, and product teams to make informed decisions and execute sophisticated campaigns. You will be the primary stakeholder responsible for managing the data architecture and integrations in Segment, ensuring data is clean, consistent, and actionable across our systems.
You’ll partner closely with Marketing Operations, Data Engineering, and Product teams to shape how data is captured, transformed, and activated across platforms like Marketo, LinkedIn, Google Ads, and more. While this is not an analytics role, experience in data engineering or analysis will be a strong asset in understanding the needs of data consumers across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage Segment.io as the source of truth for customer and behavioral data.
- Partner with data engineering to define event schemas, ensure data integrity, and build scalable pipelines into and out of Segment.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to understand downstream data needs for campaign execution and reporting.
- Define and manage naming conventions, documentation, and data governance within Segment.
- Coordinate and QA the integration of Segment with tools like Marketo, Salesforce, Google Ads, LinkedIn, and product analytics platforms.
- Be the subject matter expert for data orchestration best practices within the marketing tech stack.
- Maintain a roadmap for Segment improvements and advocate for data-first decision making in marketing operations.
About You
- Deep familiarity with Segment.io and its integrations with martech/adtech platforms
- 5-7+ years of experience in marketing operations, data operations, or a related role
- Proven track record of driving growth and customer retention strategies
- Understanding of data architecture principles and how event data fuels downstream tools
- Hands-on experience working with APIs, event instrumentation, or customer journey orchestration
- Ability to translate business requirements into data flows and implementation plans to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong collaboration and project management skills; comfortable working cross-functionally
- Some experience with Javascript, SQL, Python a plus
The reasonably estimated base salary for this role ranges from $126,000 to $190,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
