Your Role

We are seeking a full stack developer to build cutting edge smart fermentation tooling to drive next generation biomanufacturing.  As part of a team developing a platform for driving, optimizing and managing fermentation experiments, you will work with in-house scientists and external customers to develop and support the Pow software platform.  You will report to the Chief Technology Officer, and have a broad opportunity to design,  implement, and innovate state of the art software.  

Responsibilities

  • Work with the CTO and software team to design and implement web based software systems that delights users!
  • Work with Scientists and Fermentation operations to maximize impact of data on day-to-day lab operations
  • Support and extend the ETL data pipeline for in-house data processing to deliver real time visibility across internal fermentation systems.
  • Design, Implement, Test and Support features for the Pow fermentation optimization tools, including language tools, compilers and data visualization.
  • Work with external customers to deliver web based software tools for designing, optimizing and running fermentation systems

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years software development experience with exposure to web, backend and database systems.
  •  Degree in relevant quantitative discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, iterative, deadline-driven environment.
  • Curious and keen learner interested in developing new skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator, able to speak to end users to understand their technical needs, learning relevant scientific knowledge as needed.
  • Organized and able to mix tactical solutions with thinking about longer term investments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python / JavaScript/ F#
  • Experience with Postgres
  • Experience in a lab-like environment, especially Fermentation settings
  • Experience delivering customer-facing software
  • Experience with automation / control systems for lab hardware

The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and expertise. In addition to salary, we also offer equity participation and a benefits package designed to support our employees’ well-being and career development.
