A day in the life:
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Procurement Manager to lead purchasing operations for our beverage production. This role is critical in ensuring that all ingredients, raw materials, and packaging components are sourced efficiently and delivered on time to support production schedules. You will also oversee vendor management, freight logistics, cost tracking, and strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure high-quality supply and ongoing cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order all ingredients and packaging materials in time to meet production schedules.
- Manage and monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Work closely with production and planning teams to forecast needs.
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs); ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify new suppliers and reduce costs.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
- Arrange inbound and outbound freight for all purchased goods.
- Ensure timely deliveries while optimizing shipping costs.
- Clearly communicate lead times, availability, and potential delays to internal stakeholders.
- Track and report on procurement OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) to the team regularly.
- Monitor all procurement-related costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management in the food or beverage industry.
- Familiarity with food safety and regulatory compliance related to ingredients and packaging.
- Background in working with co-packers or contract manufacturers.
- Strong knowledge of ingredients and packaging sourcing for beverage production
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, procurement software, and inventory management systems.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
