***Proficiency in spoken and written English at an advanced level is required for this role.

A day in the life:

As a key player in our Analytics Engineering & BI team, you'll be at the forefront of how Power Digital designs, governs, and scales its Looker semantic layer. A critical part of your role will be owning the semantic layer modeling that powers every data product we ship, and making sure that layer serves multiple analytics surfaces including conversational analytics. You'll translate ambiguous stakeholder asks into flexible, durable models, ship best-in-class data products, and make sure every consumer of that model, human or AI, gets the right answer every time.

Responsibilities:

- Own and evolve Power Digital's enterprise LookML semantic layer as the governed foundation for analytics across our 1,000+ person organization and 600+ clients.
- Write scalable and performant LookML with rich metadata to support emerging conversational analytics use cases
- Translate ambiguous stakeholder and client asks into clear technical implementations, then design and optimize Looker assets that support scalable, reusable self-service analytics.
- Build best-in-class data products in Looker for internal stakeholders and clients, applying strong data visualization and UI/UX principles.
- Design LookML for scale and performance, partnering with Analytics Engineering on aggregate layer tuning and query optimization, and deploy and govern LookML across multiple Looker instances.
- Own the LookML style guide and naming conventions, train and support users adopting self-service analytics, and mentor junior developers and analysts.
- Employ AI technologies to maximize team leverage and efficiency.
- Other applicable or related duties as assigned.

Role Requirements:

  • 4+ years owning the full lifecycle of production-grade LookML models and data products
  • Advanced SQL proficiency with a modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake and BigQuery preferred).
  • Strong foundation in dimensional modeling and data warehousing fundamentals.
  • Agency experience, including performance marketing analytics. Comfortable with the measurement, channels, and multi-client pace of a digital marketing agency serving multiple clients from eComm to B2B
  • Experience deploying and governing LookML across multiple Looker instances.
  • Experience with extensible LookML and modular visualizations in a multi-tenant environment
  • Experience mentoring and leveling-up the technical expertise of junior team members.
  • Experience with git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable with both engineers and executives.

Nice to have:

    • Experience routing LLM queries (directing natural-language questions to the right model/Explore.)
    • Conversational Analytics or comparable natural-language BI tooling experience.
    • Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools for accelerated LookML development
    • dbt or equivalent analytics engineering experience

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Reuse / leverage ratio: within the first 6 months, achieve >50% of client-facing reporting delivered from shared, governed semantic components (vs. bespoke client-specific LookML). Thereafter, maintain >= 75% quarter-over-quarter, measured from Looker content lineage
- Self-service deflection: within the first 6 months, increase the share of analytical questions resolved by users independently (Self-Service functionality or Omega) to 50% vs. adhoc requests from Asana and Slack. Thereafter, maintain >= 75%
- Source-of-truth integrity: hold production metric-definition discrepancies and data-quality incidents at < 5%, reconciled at each monthly close across Looker and downstream surfaces (Pacing Sheets, LLMs).
- User Experience: 95% of production data products load in 5 seconds or less, measured weekly
- Code quality: 95% style-guide and naming-convention conformance, measured monthly

Most Important Things (MITs)

- Establish and maintain the LookML style guide, naming conventions, and metric-definition source of truth the rest of the team builds against.
- Deliver the highest-priority Looker data products for active client and internal engagements on committed timelines.
- Build and ensure routing scalability of the field-level semantic metadata required for Conversational Analytics and AI-driven queries.
- Partner with Analytics Engineering to methodically tune diagnose and clear performance bottlenecks on production data products.
- Mentor and deputize junior developers through hands-on PR review and pairing on modeling and visualization work.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
