Job Summary:

The Director of National Accounts is responsible for guiding, managing and supporting National Account Managers with the purpose of growing relationships with key national accounts to drive sales and achieve revenue targets. This role involves developing and implementing strategic account plans, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. The position plays a critical role in expanding the company’s market presence and building long-term partnerships with national clients. May be required to perform the duties of a National Account Manager as needed to achieve Company goals

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Personnel Management

  • Recruit and Manage National Account Managers for defined roles.
  • Direct and assist in the development of strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Regularly review account performance and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making.

Reporting responsibility

  • Frequently report performance and progress of the National Accounts team to the VP of Business Development or, the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Prepare Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports on a regular basis and present to Leadership.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
  • Use CRM tools to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities.

Account Management

  • Manage and nurture relationships with key national accounts to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Regularly review account manager performance and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to align strategies and drive cohesive efforts.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential new accounts.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for expansion.
  • Develop and present compelling proposals and solutions to meet client needs.

Negotiation and Contract Management

  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with national accounts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Manage contract renewals and extensions to maintain continuity of business relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the sales team, marketing, customer service, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of account strategies.
  • Share market insights and best practices with the team to drive collective success.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of sales initiatives.

Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support the organization's goals and adapt to evolving business needs.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales and account management, preferably with national or key accounts.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing large accounts.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is an office desk position with no significant physical exertion required.
  • Frequent travel required to meet with national accounts and attend industry events.
