Job Title: Software Engineer - DevOps
Location: Candidate must be located in Canada. Our office is located in Toronto, ON, Canada, but the role is remote/hybrid/flexible.
Reports to: Director, Engineering

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer with an interest in DevOps and Security to join our growing Engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your DevOps and security skills while applying your software development background to build and maintain our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes that support our all-in-one practice management platform and emerging agentic AI solutions. You'll also play a key role in implementing security best practices and maintaining compliance with security frameworks such as ISO standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, and Design) to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure systems that enable our development teams to deliver innovative results to our customers efficiently.

What you'll do:
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles for applications and agentic AI solutions
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and automated deployments for traditional applications and AI workloads
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure, applications, and AI systems
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security across all environments including AI solution deployments
  • Support compliance initiatives with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and other industry standards
  • Implement and maintain containerization strategies using Docker and orchestration platforms
  • Manage and optimize AWS cloud resources, including cost optimization and resource scaling
  • Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for proactive issue detection across applications and AI systems
  • Remediate security issues and vulnerabilities for infrastructure, applications, and AI solutions
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve team efficiency and reduce human error
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve application and AI solution deployability, observability, and security
  • Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis to continuously improve system reliability
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures with security considerations
  • Support multiple environments (development, staging, production) with consistent and secure configurations for all solutions
What You'll Bring:
  • 2-4+ years experience in software development with interest in or exposure to DevOps and security practices
  • Strong programming skills (C#, TypeScript, or similar languages preferred)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) or eagerness to learn
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Basic understanding of containerization concepts (Docker) or willingness to learn
  • Interest in automation, infrastructure, deployment processes, and security
  • Understanding of security fundamentals or eagerness to learn about application and infrastructure security
  • Interest in agentic AI and AI solution deployment

  • Understanding of networking, security, and database administration concepts
  • Experience with .NET application deployment and optimization
  • API development and microservices architecture experience
  • Database administration and optimization (MongoDB, SQL)
  • AWS or other cloud platform certifications
