Description of the Role / Role Purpose
The Education, Content & Training Associate will support Pratham International’s work in adapting and implementing learning innovations, such as TaRL, in the LAC region. The role involves contributing to various aspects of program design, implementation, capacity building, content development, research, and monitoring & evaluation efforts. The Associate will work collaboratively across different verticals within the organization and engage with governments, NGOs, and other partners to strengthen foundational learning outcomes at scale. This role requires developing a deep understanding of Pratham’s approaches through guidance and field practice and involves frequent travel to low- and middle-income contexts.
The Associate will support coordination between Pratham International’s global technical teams, including individuals based in India, and implementing partners across Latin America and the Caribbean. Initially, the position will focus on accompanying programs in Colombia, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, with the flexibility to expand support to additional countries as the regional portfolio grows. The Associate will play a key role in strengthening technical alignment, facilitating knowledge transfer, and ensuring high-quality implementation of program models across contexts. This includes contributing to the adaptation of tools and training materials, supporting capacity-building processes for local partners, and helping reinforce Pratham International’s technical presence and expertise within the region.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
The Associate will support a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Content & Training:

- Developing and contextualizing instructional materials for children (literacy and numeracy)
- Piloting materials and tracking innovative teaching practices
- Conducting textbook, education policies, and curriculum analysis
- Designing and delivering training and capacity-building exercises for instructors, mentors, partners, etc
- Supporting translation of materials and during meetings/events as needed
- Research, Measurement, Monitoring & Evaluation:

- Supporting the implementation of research plans and the creation of Pratham’s learning agenda
- Conducting background research and scoping related to context and different pedagogical aspects, as needed
- Supporting data collection strategies with local partners on an ongoing basis
- Supporting Pratham’s measurement, monitoring, and evaluation vertical in setting up data management processes and systems for new and existing programs
- Analyzing data to extract insights for program improvement with other verticals
- Programs & Partnerships:
- Collaborate with internal teams to enable our work with international partners for monitoring projects and tracking outcomes
- Assist in the design and scaling of programs across regions with technical fidelity
- Represent Pratham International at external meetings, events, and workshops
- Maintain organized records of partner interactions and program deliverables
- Assist in coordinating events, training sessions, and cross-regional learning initiatives
- General:

- Support with preparing technical reports and communication collateral
- Supporting instructional content development and contextualization
- Strengthening training design and technical capacity building
- Sharing findings through blogs, papers, and presentations
- Staying updated on relevant policies and initiatives in operational countries
- Collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Other related tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience (typically 3-4 years) in the education or development sector, program implementation, or a relevant analytical position.
- Experience or strong working knowledge related to curriculum design, instructional practices, assessments, or program evaluation techniques.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) in English and Spanish. Proficiency in Portuguese is highly desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of the educational context in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
- Experience with data collection, management, and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings.
- Proficiency with MS Office or similar productivity software.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to low- and middle-income countries, potentially including emergency contexts.
- Passion for improving children's learning outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Experience working with government stakeholders.
- Prior experience in research/policy labs in the LAC region
- Familiarity with specific educational initiatives or approaches related to foundational learning, math and language pedagogic strategies, desirable knowledge and/or experience with TaRL-related models.
- Proficiency with data software (e.g., STATA/R, KoboCollect/SurveyCTO, Advanced Excel, Power BI/Tableau) is desirable.

- Reporting manager: Regional Manager LAC
- Technical report to: Manager / Director of Content & Training (Specific reporting line may vary based on focus)
- Work format: Hybrid engagement
- Location: Bogota, preferred. Other nearby locations may be considered.
- Work authorization: Work authorization in Colombia is required.
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
