Principal, Global Venture Ecosystems

Indianapolis, IN or New York City, NY

Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown  into a venture-building ecosystem with a redemptive imagination, supporting founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. Our work as an organization is to build a community of practice around the ideas of redemptive entrepreneurship, work that is powered by an incredible team of builders and operators. 14 years in, we’re fortunate to have a vibrant community that loves to be together, and we’ve built a reputation for well-organized, deeply thoughtful gatherings delivered with care and warmth.

We’re searching for a Principal-level leader who can take on the operations of our venture building ecosystem work, which has a strong footprint domestically and is expanding around the globe. The work is evolving, so the right candidate will be able to operate and execute on the current strategic plan but also be adaptive as new initiatives and opportunities emerge. We're looking for someone who can operate in a high-innovation, changing-through-learning environment but also bring order, process, and operational heft to one of our largest visions.

This role reports directly to our Managing Partner over global venture ecosystems, which encompasses three initiatives defined below.  The ideal candidate would be comfortable performing as the operational and execution-oriented “right hand” of the Managing Partner, working very closely with our MP to refine strategy, develop operational plans and ensure with high accountability said plans are executed with rigor, excellence, on budget and on time.

At present, this role will be focused on synthesizing our operations across three existing initiatives below. Since each initiative has its own team to execute their workplans, this role will be critical in ensuring coordination across workstreams so that individual efforts culminate in support of our vision: entering a new region with three different but integrated, interconnected, and reinforcing annual offerings:

  1. Local Ecosystems - this initiative recruits, forms and trains local city based ecosystem leaders in how to initially run a 3-day Praxis Lab (formative experience for local entrepreneurs in our redemptive ideas, frameworks and community) and scaling that work into becoming local venture building ecosystems with a redemptive imagination for their local city.  We currently have annual training in NYC (North America), Singapore (Asia-Pacific)  and Nairobi (Africa) with plans to expand as we grow to hopefully two more cities (regions), London (Europe) and Sao Paulo (Latin America), in the next three years.
  2. Regional Gatherings - building off our successful first-ever international gatherings in 2025 in London and Singapore, we would like to see this expand to the other continents where we have focused our Local Ecosystem efforts as well, adding Nairobi in 2026 to Singapore & London, and possibly Sao Paulo in 2027.  These gatherings are 3 days in length and bring together the top Christian founders, funders, theology & culture practitioners in a given region.
  3. Regional Accelerators - in January 2026, we will be replicating  our successful (14 years running) US based Accelerators, with new Accelerators in Asia Pacific (Singapore) and Africa (Nairobi).  We hope to add future Accelerators in future years to Europe and Latin America as well.

This role will also include incorporating into the organization's planning for the next 9-18 months, adapting as we learn and leading an integrated approach with our venture Accelerators, Regional Gatherings and Local Ecosystems and their teams, as well as other internal initiatives that have a stake in our global ecosystem development.

The ideal candidate has at least 15 years of experience, directing the overall global operations for an organization, producing large-scale events and managing teams of operators, who can collaboratively coordinate gatherings, manage budgets, negotiate contracts, create high-touch experiences for guests, treat vendors and teammates graciously, with an understanding for adapting to cultural nuances, and do all of this through a systems-based, technology-centric approach that can scale into multiple global regions each year.

The ideal candidate believes deeply in redemptive entrepreneurship as mission (and be familiar with our work), is growth-minded (let’s do more!), can connect with people, but doesn’t need the stage, and sees themselves building and managing an ecosystem of events & team members well into the future of their career. They can execute the one event in front of them, while also building a system and process. They can manage important details of logistics, while partnering with the program design team to execute their vision, identifying opportunities and obstacles. They love large events, but are happy to make small gatherings equally excellent.

This role requires a background, knowledge, and true enjoyment of operations management, scaling operational capacities, directing the production of domestic and international events from start to finish, all in partnership with creative & community leaders in other roles in the organization. You’ll have a deep interest in learning and executing the details of program delivery, possess a deep attention to detail, and work with a spirit of warmth and hospitality. We are looking for someone who can immediately execute at a top level, while treating our team and vendors with a humble and redemptive approach. Most of all, we should note that the role requires someone with a great attitude -- no amount of excellence in execution or productivity can make up for the damage that comes with someone who brings large amounts of stress, anger, cynicism, or frustration to our workplace and culture.

Key Responsibilities

Local Ecosystems Integration and Support

  • Lead implementation of our suite of Ecosystem products -- Labs, Showcases, Tables, and more -- from product development to training, licensing, and the support system that ensures that Teams run quality experiences.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive support for ecosystem builders, including portfolio-style services for Labs trainees, tools, templates, and program deliverables. Ensure seamless execution through vendor management, event logistics, material design, and supply preparation while creating redemptive and delightful experiences that honor diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Provide operational leadership  for program deliverables, ensuring we run world-class formation events, training and experience design therein.
  • Lead design and management of the Ecosystem Platform -- a digital home for our products --  working with internal stakeholders and an external development agency to create an excellent digital experience for the teams who run Praxis experiences in their context.
  • Optimize internal operations by managing and improving systems, tools, and processes that creatively streamline scale operations and enhance the team's ability to serve our community effectively.
  • Drive strategic development by generating insights for elevated service offerings, branding, and products tailored to top ecosystem builders.

Regional Gatherings Event Operations Support & Integration

Our global team partners with leaders across the world for multiple Regional Gatherings annually. In February and March of 2025, we gathered members of our community in London, Singapore, and New York, with plans to add more gatherings in other global cities in 2026 and beyond. This role will oversee the integration of the Regional Gatherings, coordinating a team of FTEs and part-time contracted Venture Partners in each location. You’ll work with different teams at Praxis (staff and volunteers) on successful execution in alignment with program and event outcomes. Among many things, this events role will include:

  • Partnering with Praxis leadership to imagine the future growth of Regional Gatherings to pursue our mission of “making redemptive entrepreneurship commonplace”
  • Support in the planning of overall event agendas and program content in collaboration with the Local Ecosystems and Accelerator teams
  • Driving the research and contracting of venues each year
  • Working with the Finance team to develop annual program budgets and ticket pricing
  • Project managing the Praxis team to integrate the various programs, proactively communicate across the team, monitor progress, assign tasks, troubleshoot bottlenecks, etc.

Regional Accelerators Integration & Support

Ensuring that our global team on the ground in a region where we have an Accelerator outside of the US are integrating their work into our existing systems, tools and processes.  Managing Regional Venture Partners (less than full-time employees in a continent) and contractor contracts and ensuring seamless integration between our Regional Accelerators workplans and our Regional Gathering workplans.

Critical Competencies

  • Demonstrate expertise in planning and executing programs that have a high “experience design” factor with an ability to navigate diverse markets and cultures. Must be highly coachable alongside a self-directed mentality, and maintain an adaptable attitude to changing ideas, needs, and new projects.
  • Assisting the Managing Partner in overseeing  Venture Partner part-time contractors to assist our team with their in-country/region presence in recruiting and interviewing global founders, funders and mentors into our Regional Accelerators as well as delivering key aspects of our offerings including mentoring and content delivery.
  • Skillfully and comfortably use the Praxis set of digital tools, including Google Suite, Dropbox, Keynote, Airtable, InDesign, Slack, Asana, MixMax, Typeform, and RegFox. Especially critical for this role is the ability to design and execute in Asana.
  • Engage with the Praxis team and community as a student and growing practitioner of redemptive entrepreneurship (and in particular a redemptive approach to event production and operations with significant cultural sensitivities). Protect and embody the Praxis voice and ethos.
  • Work effectively in a fluid, matrixed environment; manage own workload independently to stay ahead of deadlines; manage projects to deliver results through other team members; contribute helpful and insightful feedback in a collaborative culture; serve others as a generous colleague; represent Praxis through a posture of hospitality and welcome at Praxis HQ; and act as an ambassador for Praxis in various settings.
  • Drive operational excellence and project management proficiency with a keen attention to detail and interest in building systems for scale. Approach work with a collaborative and creative problem solving mindset
  • Leverage new ways to deploy AI to massively increase productivity in manually intensive workstreams (i.e. screening large volumes of Accelerator applications, uploading biographical data from participants to Regional Gathering event apps, tracking and compiling local ecosystem performance metrics, etc.)

Critical Near Term Projects (first 12 months)

  • Build out a pro forma financial model in Google sheets, a vision deck in Google slides,  an operational plan in Asana, and related job descriptions in google docs that map out our global plan to enter in and grow in various continents and regions around the world.
  • Overlay a Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and internal playbook that integrates these tools and assets into a comprehensive system of operational milestones, dashboards and progress monitoring therein.
  • Manage the continued v2 development of our Labs training portal with a contracted developer to ensure our most mature city based ecosystem leaders’ needs are being met and not just initial Lab product users

Ideal Prior Experiences

We are seeking a growth-minded, optimistic, and collaborative highly detail-oriented individual with a background in organizational operations and event management, who excels in self-organization and thrives in ambiguous situations with demonstrated experience working in a global environment preferred.  The ideal candidate has at least 5-6 years of experience in scaling operations and events and a strong imagination for streamlined operational processes that can scale, while maintaining an open-handed and collaborative mentality to build with a team. We're looking for people who are not only committed to advancing the organization's mission but are also willing to tackle all tasks necessary for success, thereby contributing to both their personal growth and the organization's development.
